## CHARACTER LIST

**MAIN CHARACTERS:**

- **FAKHR:** *(to everyone)* You know, when I was painting alone on the rooftop a year ago, I never imagined this.

**ZARA:** What? Success?

**FAKHR:** No. Family. Community. The feeling that art isn't just something I do alone in the dark, but something I share with people I love.

**SARA:** *(wiping tears)* Your father would be so proud, beta.

**FEROZE:** He is proud, Ammi. I can feel it.

*DANISH begins playing a soft melody on his guitar.*

**DANISH:** This calls for a song. And before anyone protests, this one's special. I wrote it for Fakhr and Zara.

*He begins singing a beautiful, simple song about love, dreams, and new beginnings. The crowd in the gallery gradually notices and begins to gather around.*

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** *(softly, to FAKHR)* This is what art is truly about, beta. Not the painting on the wall, but the connections between hearts.

**FAKHR:** *(looking at ZARA, then at their families)* I finally understand what you mean.

*As DANISH's song ends, the crowd applauds. FAKHR takes ZARA's hand.*

**FAKHR:** *(to the crowd)* Thank you all for being here tonight. This gallery isn't just about displaying art - it's about displaying dreams, hope, and the belief that love can overcome any obstacle.

**ZARA:** *(taking the microphone)* When I first met Fakhr, I thought I was just helping an artist get his first exhibition. I had no idea I was about to discover my own dreams again.

**HASSAN:** *(stepping forward)* And I had no idea that letting go of control would actually give me everything I truly wanted - my daughter's happiness.

*The crowd applauds warmly.*

**FEROZE:** *(to the crowd)* This gallery represents something important - that when families support each other's dreams instead of fearing them, beautiful things happen.

**SARA:** *(proudly)* And that love really can conquer all.

*FAKHR looks around at everyone - his wife, his family, their friends, the appreciative crowd.*

**FAKHR:** *(to ZARA, quietly)* Are you ready for this adventure?

**ZARA:** *(touching her belly, then his face)* I've been ready since the day you walked into my gallery with paint under your fingernails and hope in your eyes.

**FAKHR:** I love you, Mrs. Ahmed.

**ZARA:** And I love you, my brilliant artist.

*They kiss as the crowd applauds, DANISH plays, and their families look on with joy and pride.*

*The camera slowly pulls back to show the gallery full of people, art, love, and new beginnings. Through the large windows, we see the city lights twinkling like stars, full of infinite possibility.*

**FADE OUT.**

## EXTENDED SCENES & CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

### SCENE 26 - FLASHBACK

**INT. AHMED FAMILY HOME - FAKHR'S CHILDHOOD - 15 YEARS AGO**

*A younger FAKHR (age 9) sits at a small table, drawing with crayons. His father, AHMED SAHIB (45), watches over his shoulder. Young FEROZE (age 13) does homework nearby.*

**AHMED SAHIB:** *(looking at FAKHR's drawing)* What is this, beta?

**YOUNG FAKHR:** It's you and Ammi dancing at cousin Ayesha's wedding.

**AHMED SAHIB:** *(amazed)* You remember that? You were so small.

**YOUNG FAKHR:** I remember the colors of Ammi's dupatta. And how happy you both looked.

*AHMED SAHIB picks up the drawing, studying it carefully.*

**AHMED SAHIB:** Fakhr, this is extraordinary. You've captured something here that a camera couldn't.

**YOUNG FEROZE:** *(looking up from homework)* It's just a drawing, Abbu.

**AHMED SAHIB:** *(to FEROZE)* No, beta. This is much more than a drawing. This is a gift.

*SARA enters, younger and more vibrant.*

**SARA:** What are you all looking at?

**AHMED SAHIB:** *(showing her the drawing)* Our Fakhr is an artist.

**SARA:** *(gasping)* Ya Allah, this is beautiful! When did you learn to draw like this?

**YOUNG FAKHR:** *(shyly)* I don't know. I just... see things and want to put them on paper.

**AHMED SAHIB:** *(kneeling down to FAKHR's level)* Beta, promise me something. Never stop seeing the world this way. Even when people tell you it's not practical, even when it's difficult. Promise me.

**YOUNG FAKHR:** I promise, Abbu.

*AHMED SAHIB embraces his son as we...*

**FADE TO:**

### SCENE 27 - FLASHBACK CONTINUES

**INT. GOVERNMENT OFFICE - DAY - 10 YEARS AGO**

*AHMED SAHIB sits at a cramped desk, processing files. His colleague, MR. QURESHI, approaches.*

**MR. QURESHI:** Ahmed Sahib, you're working late again.

**AHMED SAHIB:** *(not looking up)* Bills don't pay themselves, Qureshi Sahib.

**MR. QURESHI:** How are the boys?

**AHMED SAHIB:** *(brightening)* Feroze is doing well in business studies. And Fakhr... *(he pauses, smiling)* Fakhr got accepted to the National Art School.

**MR. QURESHI:** Art school? But the fees...

**AHMED SAHIB:** *(firmly)* We'll manage. Some dreams are worth the sacrifice.

**MR. QURESHI:** You're a good father, Ahmed Sahib.

**AHMED SAHIB:** *(looking at a small framed drawing on his desk - the same one from the previous scene)* I just want my sons to be happy. Really happy, not just comfortable.

*Suddenly, AHMED SAHIB clutches his chest, gasping.*

**MR. QURESHI:** Ahmed Sahib! Are you alright?

*AHMED SAHIB collapses. The drawing falls to the floor as we...*

**CUT TO:**

### SCENE 28 - FLASHBACK CONTINUES

**INT. HOSPITAL - NIGHT - CONTINUOUS**

*SARA sits beside AHMED SAHIB's hospital bed. FEROZE and FAKHR (now 19) stand nearby. AHMED SAHIB is weak but conscious.*

**AHMED SAHIB:** *(weakly, to FEROZE)* Beta, come here.

*FEROZE approaches the bed.*

**AHMED SAHIB:** You're the eldest now. Take care of your mother and brother.

**FEROZE:** *(fighting tears)* Abbu, don't talk like this. You're going to be fine.

**AHMED SAHIB:** *(to FAKHR)* And you, my artist. Don't let anyone tell you your dreams don't matter.

**FAKHR:** *(crying)* I can give up art school, Abbu. I can get a job, help with expenses.

**AHMED SAHIB:** *(struggling to speak)* No. Promise me... both of you... promise me you'll take care of each other's dreams, not just each other.

**FEROZE:** *(through tears)* I promise, Abbu.

**FAKHR:** Me too, Abbu. I promise.

*AHMED SAHIB smiles peacefully and closes his eyes for the last time.*

**SARA:** *(sobbing)* Ahmed... Ahmed, wake up...

*The brothers embrace their mother as we...*

**FADE TO BLACK.**

### SCENE 29 - PRESENT DAY

**INT. AHMED-MALIK GALLERY - OFFICE - DAY**

*FAKHR sits alone in the gallery office, holding the same childhood drawing, now framed beautifully. ZARA enters quietly.*

**ZARA:** *(softly)* You're thinking about him again.

**FAKHR:** *(not looking up)* Do you think he'd be proud of what we've built here?

**ZARA:** *(sitting beside him)* I think he'd be amazed. Not just at your success, but at how you and Feroze finally learned to support each other's dreams.

**FAKHR:** It took us long enough.

**ZARA:** The best things usually do.

*FEROZE enters, carrying business papers.*

**FEROZE:** Am I interrupting something?

**ZARA:** Just a moment between past and present.

*FEROZE notices the drawing in FAKHR's hands.*

**FEROZE:** *(sitting down)* I haven't seen that in years. I remember when you drew that.

**FAKHR:** I was thinking about what Abbu said. About taking care of each other's dreams.

**FEROZE:** *(emotional)* I failed at that for a long time, didn't I?

**FAKHR:** No, bhai. You were protecting me. There's a difference.

**FEROZE:** But I almost made you give up on everything that made you... you.

**ZARA:** But you didn't. And when it mattered most, you stood up for him.

**FEROZE:** *(to FAKHR)* You know what I regret most?

**FAKHR:** What?

**FEROZE:** That Abbu never got to meet Zara. He would have loved her.

**ZARA:** *(touched)* You think so?

**FEROZE:** I know so. He always said that the right partner doesn't complete you - they inspire you to complete yourself.

**FAKHR:** *(looking at ZARA)* He was right about that too.

### SCENE 30 - NEW SCENE

**EXT. CEMETERY - SUNSET**

*FAKHR, ZARA, FEROZE, AMNA, and SARA stand before AHMED SAHIB's grave. Fresh flowers have been placed, and a small easel holds a new painting - a portrait of AHMED SAHIB.*

**SARA:** *(to the grave)* Your sons have made you proud, Ahmed. They're finally working together, just like you always wanted.

**FAKHR:** *(stepping forward)* Abbu, I kept my promise. I never stopped seeing the world the way you taught me. And now... *(he looks at ZARA)* now I get to share that vision with someone who sees it too.

**FEROZE:** *(emotional)* And I kept my promise too, Abbu. I'm taking care of Fakhr's dreams now, not just his responsibilities.

**ZARA:** *(placing a hand on her belly)* Mr. Ahmed, I never got to meet you, but I see you in your sons every day. And I promise you, your grandchild will know about their grandfather who believed in dreams.

**AMNA:** *(quietly)* The art school scholarship we're funding... we're naming it the Ahmed Sahib Memorial Scholarship.

**SARA:** *(crying)* He would have loved that.

*DANISH appears behind them, carrying his guitar.*

**DANISH:** I hope it's okay that I came. I brought something.

*Without waiting for permission, he begins playing a soft, instrumental piece.*

**FAKHR:** What is this song?

**DANISH:** I don't know the name. But I heard you humming it once. You said your father used to sing it to you.

*FAKHR's eyes fill with tears as he recognizes the melody.*

**FAKHR:** *(whispered)* "Sapno ka raja..." (King of Dreams)

*They stand in peaceful silence as DANISH plays, watching the sunset paint the sky in brilliant colors.*

### SCENE 31 - NEW SCENE

**INT. MALIK HOUSE - HASSAN'S STUDY - NIGHT**

*HASSAN sits at his desk, looking through a photo album. Pictures of his late wife are scattered across the desk. ZARA enters with tea.*

**ZARA:** Papa? It's late.

**HASSAN:** I was looking at old photographs of your mother.

*ZARA sits across from him, noticing the photos.*

**ZARA:** She was so beautiful.

**HASSAN:** She was. But you know what I remembered tonight?

**ZARA:** What?

**HASSAN:** The day I first told my father I wanted to marry her. He was furious.

**ZARA:** *(surprised)* Why?

**HASSAN:** Same reasons I was furious about Fakhr. Different backgrounds, uncertain future, impractical choice.

**ZARA:** What changed his mind?

**HASSAN:** Nothing. He never approved. We married without his blessing.

**ZARA:** *(shocked)* I never knew that.

**HASSAN:** It was the biggest regret of your mother's life. She died never having her father-in-law's acceptance.

*A pause as this sinks in.*

**HASSAN:** I swore I would never put my child through that pain.

**ZARA:** Is that why you changed your mind about Fakhr?

**HASSAN:** Partly. But mostly because I saw what you saw in him. Character, integrity, love. The things that actually matter.

**ZARA:** Mama would have liked him.

**HASSAN:** *(picking up a photo of his wife painting)* Your mother would have adored him. She always believed that artists see the world's hidden beauty.

**ZARA:** I miss her.

**HASSAN:** So do I, beta. Every day. But I see her in you. Especially when you paint.

**ZARA:** Speaking of which... *(she hesitates)* I have something to show you.

*She leaves and returns with a canvas - a beautiful portrait of her mother, painted from memory and old photographs.*

**HASSAN:** *(stunned)* Zara... this is...

**ZARA:** I've been working on it in secret. For your birthday next month.

**HASSAN:** *(emotional)* It's perfect. It's exactly how I remember her.

**ZARA:** Fakhr helped me with the technique, but the vision was mine.

**HASSAN:** This is why you two belong together. You see the same beauty in the world.

*Father and daughter embrace emotionally.*

### SCENE 32 - NEW SCENE

**INT. USTAD IBRAHIM'S WORKSHOP - DAY**

*The elderly master sits with several young students, including a 16-year-old girl, AYESHA, who shows exceptional promise. FAKHR enters.*

**FAKHR:** Ustad ji, you wanted to see me?

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** Beta, I have a proposition for you.

**FAKHR:** Of course, anything.

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** I'm too old to teach properly anymore. These young ones need someone with fresh energy.

**FAKHR:** What are you asking?

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** Take over the workshop. Teach the next generation.

**FAKHR:** *(overwhelmed)* Ustad ji, I'm not qualified to...

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** *(interrupting)* You're more qualified than you think. But more importantly, you understand what I've always taught - that art without heart is just technique.

**AYESHA:** *(shyly)* Sir, we've seen your work at the gallery. It's beautiful.

**FAKHR:** *(to AYESHA)* What's your name, beta?

**AYESHA:** Ayesha Khan, sir. I want to be a painter like you someday.

**FAKHR:** *(kneeling to her level)* What do you love most about painting?

**AYESHA:** The way it makes me feel like I can capture forever in a moment.

*FAKHR looks at USTAD IBRAHIM, who nods approvingly.*

**FAKHR:** *(to USTAD IBRAHIM)* I accept. But only if you stay as the master teacher. I'll be your assistant.

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** *(smiling)* For now. But someday, this will all be yours.

**FAKHR:** *(to the students)* Who wants to learn about painting emotions?

*All the hands shoot up eagerly.*

### SCENE 33 - NEW SCENE

**INT. AHMED FAMILY HOME - KITCHEN - MORNING**

*SARA and AMNA are cooking together, preparing for a family breakfast. The relationship between them has blossomed.*

**AMNA:** Ammi, the clinic wants me to take over as head of pediatrics.

**SARA:** *(proudly)* That's wonderful news, beta! Feroze must be so proud.

**AMNA:** He is. But I'm worried about the long hours. We're trying to start a family.

**SARA:** *(wisely)* Beta, your mother-in-law's advice? Don't wait for the perfect time to have children. There's never a perfect time.

**AMNA:** How did you manage with Ahmed Sahib's job and two small children?

**SARA:** *(smiling)* Very little sleep and a lot of love. But seeing Feroze and Fakhr grow into the men they are today... every sleepless night was worth it.

*FEROZE enters, dressed for work.*

**FEROZE:** Good morning, ladies.

**AMNA:** *(hugging him)* I got the promotion.

**FEROZE:** *(lifting her up)* That's incredible! We have to celebrate.

**SARA:** What promotion?

**FEROZE:** Amna's being made head of pediatrics at the children's hospital.

**SARA:** *(emotional)* Both my sons married such accomplished women.

**AMNA:** What do you mean?

**SARA:** Zara with her art curation, you with your medicine. You both have such important work.

**FEROZE:** Speaking of Zara, have you seen how she's transformed the gallery's community outreach program?

**SARA:** What's she doing now?

**FEROZE:** Free art classes for underprivileged children every Saturday. She and Fakhr teach together.

**AMNA:** That's beautiful.

**SARA:** *(proudly)* My sons chose well. Very well indeed.

### SCENE 34 - NEW SCENE

**EXT. AHMED-MALIK GALLERY - COURTYARD - SATURDAY MORNING**

*A group of children aged 8-15 sit with easels and paintbrushes. FAKHR demonstrates technique while ZARA moves between students, offering encouragement. The scene is joyful and chaotic.*

**CHILD 1:** *(frustrated)* Miss Zara, my tree doesn't look like a tree!

**ZARA:** *(kneeling beside him)* Show me what you see when you look at that tree over there.

**CHILD 1:** *(looking)* It's big and has lots of leaves...

**ZARA:** And how does it make you feel?

**CHILD 1:** Safe. Like it could protect me from rain.

**ZARA:** Then paint that feeling. Paint a tree that makes people feel safe.

*The child's face lights up as he returns to his painting with new purpose.*

**FAKHR:** *(to the group)* Remember, there's no wrong way to see something. Art is about sharing your unique vision with the world.

**CHILD 2:** Sir, what if people don't like my vision?

**FAKHR:** *(thoughtfully)* Then you'll find the people who do. And those are your people.

*MARIAM enters with her camera, documenting the class.*

**MARIAM:** *(to ZARA)* Mind if I take some photos for the article?

**ZARA:** Of course. But ask the children first.

*MARIAM approaches the children professionally.*

**MARIAM:** Would you like to be in a newspaper article about art?

*Excited chatter as the children agree.*

**CHILD 3:** *(to FAKHR)* Will we be famous?

**FAKHR:** *(laughing)* You're already famous. You're artists.

*HASSAN appears at the courtyard entrance, watching the scene with satisfaction.*

**HASSAN:** *(to himself)* Yes, this is exactly right.

*ZARA notices her father and approaches him.*

**ZARA:** Papa, what are you doing here?

**HASSAN:** I wanted to see what you'd built here. *(gesturing to the children)* This is more important than selling expensive paintings to rich collectors.

**ZARA:** You think so?

**HASSAN:** I know so. You're planting seeds, beta. Some of these children will become artists because of what you're doing here today.

**FAKHR:** *(joining them)* Actually, sir, three children from our first classes have already gotten scholarships to art programs.

**HASSAN:** *(proudly)* See? Seeds.

*DANISH appears with a small group of musician friends.*

**DANISH:** We brought music for painting inspiration.

**CHILDREN:** *(excitedly)* Music! Music!

*As the musicians begin playing, the children paint with renewed energy and joy.*

**ZARA:** *(to FAKHR, touching her belly)* I hope our child grows up in this kind of world.

**FAKHR:** They will. We'll make sure of it.

### SCENE 35 - EXTENDED EPILOGUE

**INT. AHMED-MALIK GALLERY - 5 YEARS LATER - DAY**

*The gallery has expanded significantly. FAKHR's paintings are now prominently featured alongside established artists. A 4-year-old child, AHMED (named after his grandfather), runs between the displays while ZARA, now clearly pregnant with their second child, chases after him gently.*

**AHMED:** *(pointing at a painting)* Baba, is this yours?

**FAKHR:** *(picking him up)* Yes, beta. What do you think?

**AHMED:** *(studying it seriously)* It's happy. Like when Nana brings me sweets.

**ZARA:** *(laughing)* He has your eye for emotion.

*FEROZE enters with his own 2-year-old daughter, FATIMA, in his arms.*

**FEROZE:** Sorry we're late. Someone insisted on feeding the ducks at the park.

**FATIMA:** *(excitedly)* Ducks! Ducks!

**AMNA:** *(entering behind them)* And someone else insisted on feeding the ducks to the bread instead of the bread to the ducks.

*Everyone laughs as SARA enters, now a grandmother in her element.*

**SARA:** My grandchildren, causing chaos wherever they go.

**AHMED:** *(to SARA)* Nani, will you tell us the story about Dada?

**SARA:** *(melting)* Of course, beta. But first, let's see what your Baba and Mama have created today.

*HASSAN enters, walking with a slight cane but still dignified.*

**HASSAN:** *(to the children)* And what have my little artists been creating?

*AHMED runs to HASSAN and takes his hand.*

**AHMED:** Nana Hassan, I painted a picture of all of us!

*He leads HASSAN to a small easel where a child's painting shows stick figures labeled as family members.*

**HASSAN:** *(emotional)* This is the most beautiful painting in the entire gallery.

**USTAD IBRAHIM enters, now very elderly but still alert, supported by AYESHA, who is now a young woman and accomplished artist herself.*

**AYESHA:** *(to FAKHR)* Ustad ji insisted on coming to see the new exhibition.

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** *(to FAKHR)* Beta, I wanted to see how my students' students are progressing.

*He gestures to a corner where several of FAKHR's art students from the workshop have their pieces displayed.*

**FAKHR:** They're not my students anymore, Ustad ji. They're my colleagues.

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** *(proudly)* That's how you know you've taught them well.

*DANISH enters with his wife, SOPHIE, a French violinist he met during a cultural exchange program.*

**DANISH:** *(in mixed English and Urdu)* Sophie wanted to see the gallery that started our whole love story.

**SOPHIE:** *(in accented Urdu)* C'est magnifique! The energy here, it's like music made visible.

**MARIAM enters with her husband and young son.*

**MARIAM:** *(to ZARA)* I brought the final article proofs for your approval.

*She shows ZARA a magazine spread titled "The Gallery That Changed Everything: How Love and Art Transformed Two Families and a Community."*

**ZARA:** *(reading)* "Five years ago, a struggling artist walked into an upscale gallery with nothing but hope and talent..." *(looking up)* It's perfect, Mariam.

*The entire extended family gathers around as FAKHR addresses them.*

**FAKHR:** *(to everyone)* Five years ago, I thought success meant selling paintings. Today, I know success means..." *(he looks around at everyone)* "...this. All of you. This family we've built together."

**ZARA:** *(taking his hand)* And we're just getting started.

**FEROZE:** *(raising an imaginary glass)* To Abbu, who taught us that dreams are worth fighting for.

**EVERYONE:** To Abbu!

**SARA:** *(emotional)* And to all of you, for proving him right.

*As the family embraces and the children play among the art, we see through the large gallery windows the bustling street outside, where people of all backgrounds stop to look at the art, inspired by the beauty and hope radiating from within.*

*The camera slowly pulls back to show the gallery as part of a thriving artistic community, then rises to show the entire neighborhood, transformed by the presence of art and love.*

**FINAL FADE OUT.**

## ENHANCED ROMANTIC SCENES

### SCENE 36 - NEW ROMANTIC SCENE

**EXT. MOONLIT GARDEN - MALIK HOUSE - NIGHT**

*(Between Scenes 13 & 14)*

*ZARA leads FAKHR through a private garden behind her house. The moonlight filters through jasmine vines, creating an ethereal atmosphere.*

**ZARA:** *(whispering)* My mother planted this garden. She said moonlight makes everything more beautiful.

**FAKHR:** *(looking at her)* She was right.

*They walk slowly among the flowering plants. ZARA stops beside a fountain.*

**ZARA:** This is where I used to paint as a child. Before Papa decided it wasn't practical.

**FAKHR:** *(gently)* What did you love to paint most?

**ZARA:** *(smiling softly)* Love. I tried to paint what I thought love would look like when it came to me.

**FAKHR:** *(stepping closer)* And what did it look like?

**ZARA:** *(meeting his eyes)* Like understanding. Like someone who would see the world through my eyes and show me theirs.

*The fountain's gentle splash provides a romantic backdrop.*

**FAKHR:** Zara, from the moment I walked into your gallery, I felt like I'd been searching for you my whole life without knowing it.

**ZARA:** *(voice trembling)* Fakhr...

**FAKHR:** *(reaching for her hands)* I know I have nothing to offer you but my love. No wealth, no status, no guarantees.

**ZARA:** *(tearfully)* You have everything that matters. You have a heart that sees beauty everywhere, hands that create magic, and dreams that inspire me to remember my own.

*He cups her face gently.*

**FAKHR:** I love you, Zara. Not the gallery owner's daughter, not the sophisticated woman who could have anyone. I love you - the woman who believes in impossible dreams and makes them possible.

**ZARA:** *(whispering)* I love you too. I love your passion, your gentleness, the way you make me feel brave enough to be myself.

*They lean closer, their first kiss tender and full of promise under the moonlit jasmine.*

**ZARA:** *(after the kiss, resting her forehead against his)* Whatever happens with Papa, with the gallery, with everything else... this is real.

**FAKHR:** *(holding her close)* This is the most real thing in my life.

*They sway gently together as if dancing to music only they can hear.*

### SCENE 37 - NEW ROMANTIC SCENE

**INT. FAKHR'S ROOFTOP STUDIO - DAWN**

*(During the waiting period)*

*FAKHR paints alone by candlelight, working on a portrait. ZARA appears at the rooftop entrance - she has climbed up secretly.*

**FAKHR:** *(turning, shocked)* Zara! How did you...?

**ZARA:** *(breathless)* I climbed up the back stairs. I couldn't stay away anymore.

**FAKHR:** But your father said...

**ZARA:** *(interrupting)* My father said we couldn't see each other. He didn't say we couldn't watch the sunrise together.

*She approaches his easel and gasps. He's painting her from memory - a beautiful, ethereal portrait capturing her essence.*

**ZARA:** *(emotional)* Is this how you see me?

**FAKHR:** *(standing behind her)* This is how you live in my heart. Beautiful, luminous, like you're lit from within.

*She turns to face him, tears in her eyes.*

**ZARA:** I've been painting too. In secret.

**FAKHR:** What have you been painting?

**ZARA:** You. Us. This love that feels too big for my chest sometimes.

*She shows him a small canvas she's brought - an impressionistic painting of two figures reaching for each other across a vast space.*

**FAKHR:** *(amazed)* Zara, this is extraordinary. The emotion in this...

**ZARA:** It's how I feel every moment we're apart. Like I'm reaching across an ocean to touch you.

*He sets down his brush and takes her hands.*

**FAKHR:** You never have to reach for me. I'm already yours, completely.

**ZARA:** Even if Papa says no? Even if we have to start with nothing?

**FAKHR:** Especially then. Love isn't about what we have, Zara. It's about what we become together.

*The first rays of dawn break over the city skyline, bathing them both in golden light.*

**ZARA:** *(softly)* It's beautiful.

**FAKHR:** *(looking only at her)* Yes, it is.

*They sit together on the rooftop, her head on his shoulder, watching the sun paint the sky in brilliant colors.*

**FAKHR:** *(quietly)* Promise me something, Zara.

**ZARA:** Anything.

**FAKHR:** Promise me that no matter what happens, you'll never stop painting. The world needs your vision.

**ZARA:** *(turning to look at him)* Only if you promise me something too.

**FAKHR:** What?

**ZARA:** Promise me you'll never stop believing that love can conquer anything. Because I need that faith to be brave.

**FAKHR:** *(kissing her forehead)* I promise. Always.

### SCENE 38 - ENHANCED ROMANTIC SCENE

**INT. MALIK ART GALLERY - AFTER CLOSING - NIGHT**

*(Addition to the proposal scene)*

*After the successful proposal scene from before, FAKHR and ZARA are alone in the gallery, surrounded by his artwork.*

**ZARA:** *(looking around)* Do you remember what you said the first day you came here?

**FAKHR:** I was terrified. I probably said something foolish.

**ZARA:** *(smiling)* You said, "I know you probably see a dozen artists like me every day."

**FAKHR:** *(embarrassed)* I did say that, didn't I?

**ZARA:** *(taking his hands)* And do you know what I thought?

**FAKHR:** That I was another struggling dreamer?

**ZARA:** I thought, "I've never seen anyone like him in my life." The way you looked at art, the way you talked about your dreams... you made me remember why I fell in love with beauty in the first place.

**FAKHR:** You changed everything for me, Zara. Before you, I painted alone in the dark, hoping someone would understand. With you, I paint in the light, knowing someone already does.

*He moves to one of his paintings - the city landscape from his first exhibition.*

**FAKHR:** This was the first painting you saw of mine.

**ZARA:** I'll never forget it. The emotion in every brushstroke, the way you captured the soul of the city.

**FAKHR:** I want to tell you a secret about this painting.

**ZARA:** What?

**FAKHR:** I painted it the night before I came to your gallery. I couldn't sleep, so I painted my dream of the future. A city where dreams come true, where love conquers fear.

**ZARA:** *(amazed)* You painted your hope before you knew it would come true.

**FAKHR:** I painted you before I knew you existed. Somewhere in those city lights, in that feeling of possibility... that was my heart calling to yours.

*She moves closer to the painting, studying it with new eyes.*

**ZARA:** *(pointing to a small figure in the painting)* Is this...?

**FAKHR:** A woman in a white dress, standing in a gallery window. I painted her six months before I met you.

*ZARA covers her mouth in amazement.*

**ZARA:** I was wearing a white dress the day we met.

**FAKHR:** *(nodding)* Some connections transcend logic, Zara. Some love stories begin before the lovers even meet.

*She turns to him, overwhelmed by the romance of it all.*

**ZARA:** *(whispering)* We were meant to find each other.

**FAKHR:** In this life and every life after.

*They kiss passionately, surrounded by the art that brought them together.*

### SCENE 39 - NEW ROMANTIC SCENE

**EXT. BEACH - SUNSET - ENGAGEMENT CELEBRATION**

*One week after the engagement. FAKHR and ZARA walk hand in hand along the shoreline. The waves gently lap at their feet.*

**ZARA:** I still can't believe Papa not only agreed to our marriage but threw us an engagement party.

**FAKHR:** *(laughing)* Complete with a five-course dinner and string quartet.

**ZARA:** Danish looked so out of place in that formal setting.

**FAKHR:** But he played beautifully. Even your father's friends were impressed.

*They stop walking and face the ocean. The sunset paints the sky in brilliant oranges and pinks.*

**ZARA:** Fakhr, what are you most looking forward to in our marriage?

**FAKHR:** *(thoughtfully)* Waking up every morning knowing that your dreams and mine are intertwined. Building something beautiful together, not just in art but in life.

**ZARA:** *(smiling)* And what are you most nervous about?

**FAKHR:** *(honestly)* Being worthy of your love every single day.

**ZARA:** *(turning to face him fully)* You already are, my love. You've been worthy since the moment you walked into my gallery with paint under your fingernails and stars in your eyes.

*He pulls her close.*

**FAKHR:** I want to paint you like this. Right here, right now. The way the sunset makes your hair look like silk, the way happiness makes your eyes sparkle.

**ZARA:** Then paint me. Not now, but for the rest of our lives. Paint me in every season, every mood, every moment of joy and challenge.

**FAKHR:** *(romantic)* I'll paint you when you're 80 and still the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.

**ZARA:** *(tearfully happy)* And I'll paint you when you're 80 and still my handsome artist with the gentle heart.

*They dance slowly on the beach, no music except the rhythm of the waves.*

**FAKHR:** *(while dancing)* Zara, I need you to know something.

**ZARA:** What, my love?

**FAKHR:** Every painting I create for the rest of my life will have a piece of this love in it. Every canvas will carry the joy you've brought into my world.

**ZARA:** *(emotional)* And every exhibition I curate will be chosen with the wonder you taught me to see again.

*As they dance, the camera captures the romantic silhouette of two lovers against the vast beauty of the ocean sunset.*

### SCENE 40 - NEW ROMANTIC SCENE

**INT. WEDDING VENUE - MEHNDI CEREMONY - EVENING**

*A traditional pre-wedding ceremony. ZARA sits surrounded by female relatives and friends as henna artists decorate her hands. The atmosphere is joyful and musical.*

**SARA:** *(to ZARA)* Beta, in our tradition, the deeper the color of the mehndi, the deeper the love between husband and wife.

**ZARA:** *(smiling)* Then mine should be very dark indeed.

**MARIAM:** *(teasingly)* Look how she's glowing! This is what love does to a woman.

**AMNA:** I remember my mehndi ceremony. I was so nervous I could barely sit still.

**ZARA:** I'm not nervous. I'm excited. I feel like I've been waiting my whole life to marry Fakhr.

*The MEHNDI ARTIST, an elderly woman, looks up at ZARA.*

**MEHNDI ARTIST:** Beta, I've been doing mehndi for forty years. I can always tell which brides are marrying for love and which for arrangement. You... you have the glow of true love.

*Meanwhile, in another room, FAKHR sits with the men during his own ceremony.*

**FEROZE:** *(to FAKHR)* Are you ready for married life, bhai?

**FAKHR:** I've been ready since the day I met her.

**HASSAN:** *(joining them)* Beta, marriage isn't just about love. It's about partnership, compromise, growing together.

**FAKHR:** *(respectfully)* Uncle, I know that love is just the foundation. Zara and I are ready to build everything else together - trust, respect, dreams, a family.

**DANISH:** *(with his guitar)* This calls for a song about eternal love!

**EVERYONE:** *(laughing)* Danish, not now!

*Later, as the ceremony concludes, FAKHR and ZARA steal a moment alone in the garden.*

**FAKHR:** *(looking at her hennaed hands)* You look like a queen.

**ZARA:** I feel like one. Your queen.

**FAKHR:** Show me your hands.

*She extends her hands, beautifully decorated with intricate henna designs.*

**FAKHR:** *(tracing the patterns gently)* It's beautiful. Like you.

**ZARA:** The artist hid your name in the design. It's traditional for the groom to find it on the wedding night.

**FAKHR:** *(romantic)* Then I'll spend our whole first night searching every inch of these beautiful hands.

*They share a tender moment, surrounded by the fragrance of jasmine and the soft glow of string lights.*

### SCENE 41 - ENHANCED WEDDING SCENE

**EXT. WEDDING VENUE - GARDEN CEREMONY - SUNSET**

*A beautiful outdoor wedding setup. FAKHR waits at the altar, wearing traditional clothes, surrounded by flowers and twinkling lights. ZARA appears, radiant in red and gold, walking down the petal-strewn aisle.*

**FAKHR:** *(voice-over, emotional)* She looks like a dream walking toward me. A dream I never dared to dream.

**ZARA:** *(voice-over, emotional)* He's looking at me like I'm the most precious thing in the world. Like I'm his whole world.

*As she reaches the altar, their eyes lock and everything else fades away.*

**IMAM:** *(to the gathering)* We are here to witness the union of two souls who have found in each other their perfect complement.

*During the ceremony:*

**IMAM:** Fakhr Ahmed, do you take Zara Malik as your wife, to cherish, honor, and love through all of life's seasons?

**FAKHR:** *(looking only at ZARA)* I do. With all my heart, I do.

**IMAM:** Zara Malik, do you take Fakhr Ahmed as your husband, to support, love, and stand beside through all of life's joys and challenges?

**ZARA:** *(tears of joy)* I do. Completely and forever, I do.

*As they exchange rings:*

**FAKHR:** *(slipping the ring on her finger)* With this ring, I promise to paint our love story in every color of happiness.

**ZARA:** *(slipping his ring on)* With this ring, I promise to be your partner in every dream, your comfort in every storm.

*When pronounced husband and wife:*

**IMAM:** You may kiss your bride.

*Their first kiss as husband and wife is passionate and tender, as rose petals fall around them like snow.*

*The crowd erupts in celebration as DANISH and his musician friends play, SARA cries tears of joy, HASSAN beams proudly, and FEROZE and AMNA embrace emotionally.*

### SCENE 42 - NEW ROMANTIC SCENE

**INT. HONEYMOON SUITE - NORTHERN PAKISTAN MOUNTAINS - NIGHT**

*A beautiful room overlooking snow-capped mountains. Large windows show the starry sky. FAKHR and ZARA enter as newlyweds.*

**ZARA:** *(amazed by the view)* It's breathtaking.

**FAKHR:** *(looking at her)* Yes, it is.

*She notices he's set up a small easel by the window.*

**ZARA:** *(laughing)* You brought art supplies on our honeymoon?

**FAKHR:** *(sheepish)* I want to capture every moment with you. Starting with this one.

*She moves to the easel where he's already begun a painting of the mountain view.*

**ZARA:** It's beautiful, but it's missing something.

**FAKHR:** What?

**ZARA:** The most beautiful part of this scene.

*She picks up a brush and adds two small figures in the foreground - a couple embracing.*

**FAKHR:** *(amazed)* Perfect. You made it perfect.

**ZARA:** We made it perfect. Together.

*He comes behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist.*

**FAKHR:** Mrs. Ahmed, what would you like to do on our first night as husband and wife?

**ZARA:** *(leaning back against him)* Paint the stars with you. Dance without music. Talk until sunrise about all our dreams.

**FAKHR:** *(kissing her neck softly)* And then?

**ZARA:** *(turning in his arms)* Then love you with every breath in my body.

*They dance slowly by moonlight, completely lost in each other.*

**FAKHR:** *(while dancing)* I love you, Zara Ahmed.

**ZARA:** *(smiling at her new name)* I love you too, my husband, my heart, my home.

*They kiss passionately as snow begins to fall outside, creating a magical winter wonderland visible through the large windows.*

### SCENE 43 - ENHANCED ROMANTIC EPILOGUE

**INT. AHMED-MALIK GALLERY - 10 YEARS LATER - GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY EVENING**

*The gallery hosts a celebration of FAKHR and ZARA's 10th wedding anniversary. Their three children - AHMED (9), SARA (6), and baby HASSAN (2) - play among the guests.*

**FAKHR:** *(addressing the gathering)* Ten years ago, I walked into this gallery with nothing but hope and a handful of paintings.

**ZARA:** *(taking his hand)* And I thought I was just looking at art. I had no idea I was looking at my future.

**FAKHR:** *(romantic)* They say love changes over time. They're right. It doesn't stay the same - it grows deeper, stronger, more beautiful with every passing day.

**ZARA:** *(emotional)* Fakhr taught me that love isn't just a feeling - it's a choice you make every morning, a promise you keep every day.

*He leads her to a covered easel in the center of the gallery.*

**FAKHR:** I have something for you, my love.

*He unveils a stunning painting - their entire love story told in one masterpiece, with scenes flowing from their first meeting to their current family life.*

**ZARA:** *(gasping, tears streaming)* Fakhr... it's our whole story.

**FAKHR:** Every moment of our love, from the first glance to this very celebration. And look here... *(pointing to a corner)* there's space for all the chapters still to come.

*She covers her mouth in amazement, then kisses him passionately in front of their friends and family.*

**ZARA:** *(after the kiss)* I have something for you too.

*She reveals her own painting - a portrait of FAKHR at their easel, but painted from the perspective of their children watching their father work.*

**ZARA:** This is how our children see you. As their hero, their inspiration, the man who taught them that dreams are worth fighting for.

*The entire gathering wipes away tears as the couple embraces.*

**DANISH:** *(with his guitar)* Now THIS calls for a song!

*As DANISH plays a romantic ballad he's composed for them, FAKHR and ZARA dance in the center of their gallery, surrounded by art, love, family, and the life they've built together.*

**SARA:** *(to HASSAN)* Look at them. Still dancing like newlyweds.

**HASSAN:** *(proudly)* That's what real love looks like, Sara ji. It only gets more beautiful with time.

*As the song ends, their children run to join them, and the family dances together while their loved ones watch with joy.*

**FAKHR:** *(to ZARA, while their children hug their legs)* Ready for the next ten years, my love?

**ZARA:** *(looking at their beautiful life)* Ready for forever.

*They kiss again as their children cheer and the gallery fills with the warmth of enduring love.*

**FINAL ROMANTIC FADE OUT with the family silhouetted against their art-filled gallery, a testament to love, dreams, and the beautiful life they've created together.**

## HEART-WRENCHING SAD MOMENTS

### SCENE 44 - NEW TRAGIC SCENE

**INT. HOSPITAL - ICU WAITING ROOM - NIGHT**

*(Between Scenes 32 & 33 - 3 years after marriage)*

*FAKHR sits in a plastic chair, his clothes paint-stained from rushing to the hospital. FEROZE paces nervously. SARA and HASSAN sit together, HASSAN comforting his devastated brother-in-law. AMNA approaches in her doctor's coat, her face grave.*

**AMNA:** *(gently)* Fakhr, beta...

**FAKHR:** *(looking up with desperate hope)* How is she? How's the baby?

*AMNA sits beside him, taking his hands.*

**AMNA:** The accident was severe. Zara has a traumatic brain injury and internal bleeding. We've stabilized her, but...

**FAKHR:** *(voice breaking)* But what, Amna? Tell me she's going to be okay.

**AMNA:** *(tears in her eyes)* She's in a coma, Fakhr. And the baby... I'm so sorry. We couldn't save the baby.

*The words hit FAKHR like a physical blow. He doubles over in grief.*

**FAKHR:** *(anguished)* No... no, no, no. She was only six months along. We had names picked out. We had... we had...

*FEROZE immediately goes to his brother, embracing him as FAKHR breaks down completely.*

**FEROZE:** *(emotional)* I'm here, bhai. I'm here.

**SARA:** *(sobbing)* Not my Zara. Not my daughter and grandchild.

**HASSAN:** *(devastated, to AMNA)* What are her chances of waking up?

**AMNA:** *(honestly)* We don't know. Brain injuries are unpredictable. It could be days, weeks, months... or...

*She can't finish the sentence. FAKHR stands abruptly.*

**FAKHR:** I need to see her. Now.

**AMNA:** Fakhr, she's on life support. She looks...

**FAKHR:** *(firmly)* She's my wife. I need to see my wife.

### SCENE 45 - DEVASTATING HOSPITAL SCENE

**INT. HOSPITAL - ICU ROOM - CONTINUOUS**

*ZARA lies unconscious, connected to multiple machines. Her face is bruised, her head bandaged. The steady beep of monitors fills the silence. FAKHR approaches slowly, as if in a trance.*

**FAKHR:** *(whispering)* Zara? Zara, it's me. It's Fakhr.

*He takes her hand gently, careful of the IV lines.*

**FAKHR:** *(voice breaking)* The doctors say you might not hear me, but I know you can. You have to. We have too much left to do together.

*He pulls a small canvas from his bag - a painting he was working on of their unborn child's nursery.*

**FAKHR:** *(showing her the painting)* I was going to surprise you with this. I painted the nursery with morning sunlight, just like you wanted. Yellow walls because we wanted to wait to know if it was a boy or girl.

*His voice cracks completely.*

**FAKHR:** *(sobbing)* Zara, they say the baby... they say our baby didn't make it. Please wake up. Please wake up so we can grieve together. I can't do this alone.

*He lays his head on her chest, listening to her heartbeat.*

**FAKHR:** *(barely audible)* You're my whole world, Zara. Without you, I'm just... I'm just a man with paint on his hands and a broken heart.

*DANISH enters quietly, having heard the news.*

**DANISH:** *(softly)* Fakhr...

**FAKHR:** *(not looking up)* She looks so peaceful. Like she's just sleeping.

**DANISH:** Maybe she is just sleeping, and she'll wake up when she's ready.

**FAKHR:** *(bitter laugh)* Or maybe this is how our love story ends. With me talking to machines and hoping for miracles.

*USTAD IBRAHIM enters, using a walker, looking frailer than ever.*

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** *(weakly)* Beta, I came as soon as I heard.

**FAKHR:** *(looking up)* Ustad ji, you shouldn't have come. You're not well.

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** *(approaching the bed)* A teacher comes when his student needs him most. And right now, you need to remember something important.

**FAKHR:** What?

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** Love doesn't end with breath, beta. It lives in every canvas you've painted together, every dream you've shared, every life you've touched.

**FAKHR:** *(angrily)* I don't want philosophy right now! I want my wife! I want our child!

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** *(gently but firmly)* And what would Zara want for you right now?

*This question stops FAKHR's anger cold.*

**FAKHR:** *(quietly)* She'd want me to keep painting. She'd want me to keep believing in beauty even when the world feels dark.

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** Then paint her back to you, beta. Paint your love so strong that it calls her home.

### SCENE 46 - HEARTBREAKING VIGIL SCENE

**INT. HOSPITAL - ICU ROOM - DAY 7 OF COMA**

*FAKHR has set up a small easel beside ZARA's bed. He's painting her sleeping form, capturing her peaceful expression. He looks exhausted, unshaven, wearing the same clothes for days.*

**SARA:** *(entering with food)* Beta, you need to eat something.

**FAKHR:** *(not stopping painting)* I'm not hungry, Ammi.

**SARA:** *(firmly)* Fakhr, you haven't left this room in three days. You haven't showered, barely eaten...

**FAKHR:** *(finally looking at her)* What if she wakes up and I'm not here? What if the first thing she sees is an empty room?

**SARA:** *(sitting beside him)* Then one of us will be here. But beta, you're destroying yourself.

**FAKHR:** *(returning to painting)* Good. I want to be destroyed. I want to hurt as much as she's hurting.

*MARIAM enters with fresh flowers.*

**MARIAM:** *(to SARA)* How is he?

**SARA:** *(worried)* He won't leave. He's painted her every day, hoping she'll wake up.

*MARIAM approaches FAKHR's easel and gasps. He's created multiple paintings of ZARA - sleeping, smiling from memory, holding their unborn child in his imagination.*

**MARIAM:** *(emotional)* Fakhr, these are beautiful. But also heartbreaking.

**FAKHR:** *(mechanically)* She used to say that the most beautiful art comes from the deepest pain.

*Suddenly, one of the monitors starts beeping erratically.*

**SARA:** *(alarmed)* What's happening?

*AMNA rushes in with other medical staff.*

**AMNA:** *(checking monitors)* Her blood pressure is dropping. We need to take her for emergency surgery.

**FAKHR:** *(panicked)* Surgery? What's wrong?

**AMNA:** Internal bleeding has resumed. We need to operate now.

*As the medical team prepares to move ZARA, FAKHR grabs her hand.*

**FAKHR:** *(desperately)* Zara, don't leave me. Please don't leave me. I love you. Come back to me.

*They wheel her away as FAKHR collapses into FEROZE's arms, sobbing.*

**FAKHR:** *(broken)* I can't lose her, bhai. I can't lose her too.

**FEROZE:** *(holding him tight)* You won't. She's strong. She's going to fight.

### SCENE 47 - DEVASTATING REVELATION SCENE

**INT. HOSPITAL - SURGERY WAITING ROOM - HOURS LATER**

*The entire family waits in agonizing silence. AMNA emerges from surgery, removing her surgical cap. Her expression is unreadable.*

**FAKHR:** *(jumping up)* How is she?

**AMNA:** *(pause)* The surgery was successful. We stopped the bleeding.

*Everyone sighs in relief, but AMNA's expression doesn't change.*

**HASSAN:** There's something else, isn't there?

**AMNA:** *(difficult)* During the surgery, we discovered something. The brain injury is more extensive than we initially thought.

**FAKHR:** What does that mean?

**AMNA:** *(struggling to find words)* Even if she wakes up... there may be permanent damage. Memory loss, cognitive impairment, personality changes.

*The words hang in the air like a death sentence.*

**FAKHR:** *(slowly)* You're saying she might not remember me?

**AMNA:** *(tearfully)* It's possible. We won't know the extent until she wakes up.

**FAKHR:** *(sinking into a chair)* So I might get my wife back, but she might not know who I am?

**FEROZE:** *(to AMNA)* What are the chances of full recovery?

**AMNA:** *(honestly)* Small. Very small.

*FAKHR stands suddenly and walks to the window, staring out at the city.*

**FAKHR:** *(quietly, to himself)* Three years of marriage. Three years of perfect happiness. And now...

**SARA:** *(approaching him)* Beta, whatever happens, we'll face it together.

**FAKHR:** *(turning with tears streaming)* Ammi, what if she wakes up and looks at me like I'm a stranger? What if she doesn't remember our wedding, our love, our dreams?

**HASSAN:** *(joining them)* Then you'll make her fall in love with you again.

**FAKHR:** *(bitter laugh)* How do you make someone fall in love with a life they can't remember?

**DANISH:** *(softly)* The same way you did the first time. With patience, kindness, and hope.

*FAKHR looks around at his family - all the people who love him and ZARA.*

**FAKHR:** *(broken but determined)* Then that's what I'll do. However long it takes, whatever it costs... I'll win her heart again.

### SCENE 48 - MIRACULOUS BUT BITTERSWEET AWAKENING

**INT. HOSPITAL - ICU ROOM - DAY 14**

*FAKHR sits beside ZARA's bed, reading to her from a book of poetry. Her eyes suddenly flutter open.*

**FAKHR:** *(gasping)* Zara? Zara, can you hear me?

*She looks around confused, trying to focus.*

**ZARA:** *(weakly)* Where... where am I?

**FAKHR:** *(tearful with joy)* You're in the hospital, my love. You've been in a coma for two weeks.

*She looks at him blankly.*

**ZARA:** *(confused)* I'm sorry, do I know you?

*The words pierce FAKHR's heart like a knife.*

**FAKHR:** *(voice breaking)* I'm Fakhr. Your husband. We've been married for three years.

**ZARA:** *(shaking her head slowly)* I don't... I can't remember. I'm sorry, I don't remember you.

*FAKHR's world crumbles, but he forces a gentle smile.*

**FAKHR:** *(with tremendous strength)* It's okay. The doctors said this might happen. It's okay.

**ZARA:** *(looking at the paintings around the room)* Did you do these? They're beautiful.

**FAKHR:** *(hope flickering)* Yes. I painted them while you were sleeping.

**ZARA:** *(studying a painting of herself)* This woman... she looks happy.

**FAKHR:** *(barely holding together)* She was. We were very happy together.

*AMNA enters and checks ZARA's vitals.*

**AMNA:** *(professional but gentle)* How are you feeling, Zara?

**ZARA:** Confused. Everyone keeps telling me about this life I lived, but I don't remember any of it.

*FAKHR steps outside the room where FEROZE is waiting.*

**FEROZE:** How is she?

**FAKHR:** *(devastated)* She doesn't remember me, bhai. She looks at me like I'm a stranger who happens to know her name.

**FEROZE:** *(embracing him)* I'm so sorry, Fakhr.

**FAKHR:** *(crying)* Three years of marriage, and she doesn't remember our first kiss, our wedding day, the gallery we built together... nothing.

**FEROZE:** What will you do?

**FAKHR:** *(wiping his tears, with quiet determination)* I'll start over. I'll introduce myself again. I'll show her our life, our love, our dreams. And I'll hope that somewhere in her heart, she'll remember what we had.

**FEROZE:** And if she doesn't?

**FAKHR:** *(looking back at her room)* Then I'll love her anyway. Memory or no memory, she's still my Zara. She's still the woman I promised to love in sickness and health.

*As FAKHR returns to ZARA's room, we see him gathering his strength to begin the heartbreaking process of re-introducing himself to the love of his life.*

**FAKHR:** *(entering the room with a gentle smile)* Zara, would you like me to tell you about us? About how we met?

**ZARA:** *(uncertain but curious)* I... yes. Yes, I'd like that.

*As FAKHR begins to retell their love story, we see both the devastating sadness of lost memory and the beautiful hope of love that refuses to give up.*

### SCENE 49 - SLOW RECOVERY MONTAGE

**INT. HOSPITAL & REHABILITATION CENTER - VARIOUS SCENES - 6 MONTHS LATER**

*A series of heartbreaking and hopeful moments:*

**- Physical Therapy Room:**

*ZARA struggles with basic movements while FAKHR encourages her.*

**FAKHR:** You're doing so well, Zara.

**ZARA:** *(frustrated)* I used to be able to do things. I can feel it, but I can't remember what.

**- Art Therapy Session:**

*ZARA holds a paintbrush awkwardly. FAKHR guides her hand gently.*

**FAKHR:** Here, try holding it like this. Your hands remember, even if your mind doesn't.

*She makes a simple brushstroke and suddenly stops, staring at the mark.*

**ZARA:** *(confused)* That felt... familiar. Like I've done this before.

**FAKHR:** *(hopeful)* You have. You're a wonderful artist.

**- Gallery Visit:**

*FAKHR wheels ZARA through their gallery. She looks at everything with wonder but no recognition.*

**ZARA:** This place feels important. Did we come here often?

**FAKHR:** *(sadly)* We built it together. It's our gallery.

**ZARA:** *(amazed)* Our gallery? We own this?

**FAKHR:** We're partners. In business and in life.

*She stops in front of their wedding photo displayed prominently.*

**ZARA:** *(touching the glass)* We look so happy.

**FAKHR:** *(emotional)* We were. We are.

**ZARA:** *(turning to him)* I wish I could remember how that felt.

**FAKHR:** *(taking her hand)* Maybe someday you will. And if not, maybe we can create new happiness.

**- Evening at Home:**

*ZARA sits in their living room, surrounded by photo albums. FAKHR explains each picture.*

**FAKHR:** This is our honeymoon in the mountains. You painted the sunrise while I watched you, thinking I was the luckiest man alive.

**ZARA:** *(studying the photo)* I look like I belonged there. With you.

**FAKHR:** You did belong there. You belong here, with me, always.

*She looks at him with growing warmth, though still no memory.*

**ZARA:** Fakhr, I need to tell you something.

**FAKHR:** *(nervous)* What?

**ZARA:** I don't remember loving you. But I think... I think I could learn to love you again. You're so patient, so kind. The way you look at me...

**FAKHR:** *(tearful)* How do I look at you?

**ZARA:** Like I'm the most precious thing in your world.

**FAKHR:** *(softly)* You are.

*This marks the beginning of their second courtship, built on the ashes of their lost first love but growing into something new and equally beautiful.*

### SCENE 50 - BITTERSWEET ACCEPTANCE

**EXT. CEMETERY - SUNSET - ONE YEAR AFTER ACCIDENT**

*FAKHR and ZARA stand before a small grave marker that reads "Baby Ahmed - Forever in our hearts." ZARA has slowly learned about their lost child.*

**ZARA:** *(placing flowers)* I'm sorry I can't remember you, little one. But I feel the sadness, even without the memories.

**FAKHR:** *(emotional)* The doctors say the grief might be helping trigger some emotional memories.

**ZARA:** I dream sometimes of a nursery painted in yellow. Is that real?

**FAKHR:** *(nodding)* I painted it for our baby. You chose yellow because we wanted to be surprised.

**ZARA:** *(tears falling)* I mourn for a child I can't remember carrying, for a love I can't remember feeling. But somehow, the grief feels real.

**FAKHR:** Love lives deeper than memory, Zara. Your heart knows what your mind has forgotten.

*They stand in comfortable silence, both grieving their losses - her memories, their child, their original life together.*

**ZARA:** *(taking his hand)* Fakhr, I want you to know something.

**FAKHR:** What?

**ZARA:** *(meeting his eyes)* I may not remember falling in love with you the first time, but I'm falling in love with you now. This version of you, this version of us.

**FAKHR:** *(amazed)* Really?

**ZARA:** The man who spent two weeks painting me while I was unconscious, who reads me poetry every night to help me sleep, who's rebuilding our entire life with such patience and hope... how could I not love that man?

*They embrace as the sun sets, their love reborn from tragedy, different than before but equally profound.*

**FAKHR:** *(softly)* I love you, Zara. Both versions of you. The one I lost and the one I'm finding.

**ZARA:** *(smiling through tears)* Then we're even. Because I love both versions of you too - the one in the stories and the one standing here with me now.

*As they walk away from the cemetery together, we see that while they've lost so much, they've also found a new kind of love - one built not just on passion and dreams, but on dedication, perseverance, and the choice to love beyond memory.*

## ACT I

### SCENE 1

**INT. AHMED FAMILY HOME - LIVING ROOM - MORNING**

*A modest but warm home. Family portraits line the walls. SARA AHMED sits at a wooden table, counting money. FEROZE KHAN enters, dressed in a business suit.*

**FEROZE:** Ammi, you don't need to count every rupee. The shop is doing well now.

**SARA:** *(looking up with tired eyes)* Beta, I've been managing this household since your father passed. Old habits die hard.

*FAKHR enters from the back room, paint stains on his shirt, carrying a canvas.*

**FAKHR:** Good morning, Ammi. Bhai, you're up early.

**FEROZE:** *(noticing the canvas)* Another painting, Fakhr? When will you realize that art doesn't put food on the table?

**FAKHR:** *(defensive)* It's not just about money, Feroze. It's about expression, about—

**FEROZE:** *(interrupting)* About dreams that don't pay rent. I've been supporting this family for four years. It's time you found a real job.

**SARA:** *(gently)* Feroze, beta, let him breathe. Fakhr, show me what you've painted.

*FAKHR hesitates, then turns the canvas around. It's a beautiful landscape with deep emotional undertones.*

**SARA:** *(with wonder)* It's beautiful, beta. Your father would have been proud.

**FEROZE:** *(softening slightly)* It is... good. But Fakhr, we can't live on beauty alone.

**FAKHR:** Maybe you can't, bhai. But I can't live without it.

*A moment of tense silence.*

**FEROZE:** I have a meeting with a potential investor today. The textile business is expanding. There might be an opportunity for you.

**FAKHR:** I appreciate it, but—

**FEROZE:** Think about it. For Ammi's sake, if not your own.

*FEROZE exits. SARA looks between the door and FAKHR.*

**SARA:** He loves you, beta. He just shows it differently.

**FAKHR:** I know, Ammi. But sometimes love feels like a cage.

### SCENE 2

**EXT. MALIK ART GALLERY - DAY**

*A sophisticated art gallery in the upscale part of the city. FAKHR stands outside, clutching his portfolio, gathering courage.*

**FAKHR:** *(to himself)* Come on, Fakhr. What's the worst that could happen?

*He enters the gallery.*

**INT. MALIK ART GALLERY - CONTINUOUS**

*The gallery is pristine, filled with expensive artwork. ZARA MALIK is arranging a display when FAKHR enters.*

**ZARA:** *(without looking up)* We're not buying anything today.

**FAKHR:** I... I'm not selling anything. Well, not exactly.

*ZARA looks up, sees FAKHR's nervous demeanor and paint-stained clothes.*

**ZARA:** *(with a slight smile)* Let me guess. Aspiring artist?

**FAKHR:** *(defensive)* Is it that obvious?

**ZARA:** The paint under your fingernails, the way you're looking at the artwork like you're studying for an exam, and the portfolio you're clutching like a life preserver.

**FAKHR:** *(relaxing slightly)* You're very observant.

**ZARA:** I have to be. I'm Zara Malik. This is my father's gallery, but I curate most of the exhibitions.

**FAKHR:** Fakhr Ahmed. And I was hoping... maybe you could look at my work?

**ZARA:** *(hesitant)* We don't usually...

*She stops as she notices the genuine hope in his eyes.*

**ZARA:** Show me one piece.

*FAKHR carefully opens his portfolio and shows her a painting of city life with extraordinary detail and emotion.*

**ZARA:** *(stunned)* This is... Where did you study?

**FAKHR:** I didn't. Not formally. I had a teacher, Ustad Ibrahim, but mostly I taught myself.

**ZARA:** *(still staring at the painting)* The emotion in this... it's raw, honest. Most formally trained artists lose this authenticity.

**FAKHR:** *(hopeful)* So you like it?

**ZARA:** I don't like it, Fakhr. I love it. But liking something and being able to sell it are two different things.

*HASSAN MALIK enters from the back office.*

**HASSAN:** Zara, who's this young man?

**ZARA:** Papa, this is Fakhr Ahmed. He's an artist.

**HASSAN:** *(dismissive)* Another one? Zara, we've discussed this.

**FAKHR:** *(respectfully)* Sir, if you could just look at one piece...

**HASSAN:** *(barely glancing)* Son, art is a business. We deal with established artists, not dreamers.

*HASSAN exits. ZARA looks embarrassed.*

**ZARA:** I'm sorry. He's not usually so... direct.

**FAKHR:** *(disappointed but understanding)* It's okay. I understand.

**ZARA:** *(impulsively)* Wait. There's a small exhibition space in the back. Sometimes we showcase emerging artists. Would you be interested in a small show?

**FAKHR:** *(lighting up)* Are you serious?

**ZARA:** *(smiling)* Let me see more of your work first.

### SCENE 3

**INT. AHMED FAMILY HOME - EVENING**

*The family sits around the dinner table. FEROZE is on his phone, SARA serves food, FAKHR looks excited.*

**FAKHR:** I have news.

**FEROZE:** *(not looking up)* You got a job?

**FAKHR:** Even better. I might get an art exhibition.

**FEROZE:** *(finally looking up)* What?

**SARA:** *(excited)* Really, beta? Where?

**FAKHR:** Malik Art Gallery. The owner's daughter, Zara, she saw my work and—

**FEROZE:** *(interrupting)* Malik Gallery? Fakhr, those people are way out of our league.

**FAKHR:** Why does everything have to be about league with you? Can't you just be happy for me?

**FEROZE:** I'm trying to protect you from disappointment.

**FAKHR:** *(standing up)* Maybe I don't need protection. Maybe I need support.

*FAKHR storms out. SARA looks at FEROZE reproachfully.*

**SARA:** Beta, your brother needs encouragement, not doubt.

**FEROZE:** *(sighing)* Ammi, I've seen too many people get their hearts broken chasing impossible dreams.

**SARA:** And I've seen too many people die with their dreams still inside them. Your father always said Fakhr had a special gift.

**FEROZE:** *(softly)* I remember. But gifts don't always translate to success, Ammi.

**SARA:** Then let's pray this time they do.

### SCENE 4

**EXT. ROOFTOP - NIGHT**

*FAKHR sits on the rooftop, painting by moonlight. His canvas shows a night scene of the city. DANISH approaches, carrying a guitar.*

**DANISH:** Painting in the dark again?

**FAKHR:** *(not looking up)* The moon gives enough light. Besides, night paintings have a different soul.

**DANISH:** *(sitting down)* How did it go at the gallery today?

**FAKHR:** Mixed. The owner's daughter liked my work, but her father... he barely looked at it.

**DANISH:** And the daughter?

**FAKHR:** *(pausing his painting)* Zara. She's... different. Intelligent, honest about the business, but she genuinely cares about art.

**DANISH:** *(grinning)* You like her.

**FAKHR:** *(defensive)* I barely know her.

**DANISH:** That's not what I asked.

*FAKHR continues painting without answering.*

**DANISH:** Play me something while I finish this.

*DANISH begins playing a soft, melancholic tune on his guitar.*

**FAKHR:** *(while painting)* Feroze thinks I'm chasing impossible dreams.

**DANISH:** Maybe you are. But impossible dreams are the only ones worth chasing.

**FAKHR:** Easy for you to say. You don't have a family depending on you to be practical.

**DANISH:** No, but I have a friend depending on me to remind him that some things are more important than being practical.

*They sit in comfortable silence as DANISH plays and FAKHR paints.*

## ACT II

### SCENE 5

**INT. MALIK ART GALLERY - NEXT DAY**

*ZARA is reviewing FAKHR's portfolio with more paintings spread out. FAKHR waits nervously.*

**ZARA:** These are extraordinary, Fakhr. This one especially... *(pointing to a painting of a woman's silhouette)* there's so much longing in it.

**FAKHR:** *(uncomfortable)* It's just... an expression of emotion.

**ZARA:** Whose emotion? The subject's or the artist's?

**FAKHR:** *(quietly)* Does it matter?

**ZARA:** *(studying him)* In art, everything matters. The emotion, the story, the pain behind it.

*HASSAN enters.*

**HASSAN:** Zara, what's all this?

**ZARA:** Papa, I want to give Fakhr a small exhibition in the back space.

**HASSAN:** *(firmly)* Absolutely not.

**ZARA:** Why? His work is good.

**HASSAN:** Good doesn't sell, beta. Names sell. Reputation sells.

**FAKHR:** *(standing)* Sir, I understand your concerns about commercial viability, but—

**HASSAN:** Son, do you know how much money we could lose on an unknown artist?

**ZARA:** What about the money we could make? Papa, art discovery is what makes galleries prestigious.

**HASSAN:** *(after a pause)* One condition. If you can sell at least five pieces in the first week, we'll consider a larger exhibition. If not, no more experiments.

**ZARA:** *(looking at FAKHR)* Deal?

**FAKHR:** *(determined)* Deal.

*HASSAN exits. ZARA turns to FAKHR.*

**ZARA:** I hope you're ready to work hard.

**FAKHR:** I've been working hard all my life. Now I finally have something to work hard for.

### SCENE 6

**INT. AHMED FAMILY HOME - EVENING**

*FEROZE enters to find FAKHR frantically painting. Canvases are everywhere.*

**FEROZE:** What's all this?

**FAKHR:** *(not stopping)* I have two weeks to prepare for my exhibition.

**FEROZE:** They agreed to show your work?

**FAKHR:** *(surprised by his brother's interest)* Yes. Small space, one week show, but it's a start.

*FEROZE picks up one of the paintings - a portrait of their father.*

**FEROZE:** *(softly)* This is Abbu.

**FAKHR:** *(stopping painting)* You remember him like that?

**FEROZE:** *(emotional)* Every day. Fakhr, this is... this is beautiful.

**FAKHR:** You mean that?

**FEROZE:** *(sitting down)* I need to tell you something. I've been pushing you toward business because... because when Abbu died, I was terrified. Terrified of losing everything, of not being able to take care of you and Ammi.

**FAKHR:** *(putting down his brush)* Feroze...

**FEROZE:** I forgot that Abbu didn't just leave us responsibilities. He left us dreams too.

*A moment of understanding between the brothers.*

**FAKHR:** Will you come to the exhibition?

**FEROZE:** *(smiling)* I wouldn't miss it.

### SCENE 7

**INT. USTAD IBRAHIM'S WORKSHOP - DAY**

*An old, cluttered art studio filled with paintings and sculptures. USTAD IBRAHIM, an elderly man with wise eyes, examines FAKHR's latest work.*

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** There's urgency in these new pieces. What's changed?

**FAKHR:** I have a chance, Ustad ji. A real chance.

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** *(chuckling)* And there's something else. A woman.

**FAKHR:** *(surprised)* How do you...?

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** Beta, I've been painting for fifty years. Love changes an artist's work. It adds layers, depth, vulnerability.

**FAKHR:** It's complicated.

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** The best things always are. Tell me about her.

**FAKHR:** She's the gallery owner's daughter. Intelligent, artistic, but from a completely different world.

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** And?

**FAKHR:** And I'm a poor artist with big dreams and empty pockets.

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** *(firmly)* You're an artist with a pure heart and extraordinary talent. Don't let society's definitions define your worth.

**FAKHR:** Easy to say, hard to live.

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** The greatest love stories are about overcoming the impossible, beta. Paint from your heart, and let your art speak for itself.

### SCENE 8

**INT. MALIK ART GALLERY - BACK ROOM - DAY**

*ZARA and FAKHR are hanging his paintings in the small exhibition space. There's an easy chemistry between them.*

**ZARA:** This one should go in the center. It's your strongest piece.

**FAKHR:** *(looking at her instead of the painting)* Why are you doing this for me?

**ZARA:** *(pausing)* What do you mean?

**FAKHR:** You barely know me. You're risking your father's trust, maybe your relationship with him.

**ZARA:** *(thoughtfully)* Because your art moved me. Because I believe talent deserves a chance. Because...

**FAKHR:** Because?

**ZARA:** *(quietly)* Because you remind me why I fell in love with art in the first place.

*A moment of connection. Their hands accidentally touch while hanging a painting.*

**MARIAM:** *(entering suddenly)* Zara, your father's looking for... *(noticing the tension)* Sorry, am I interrupting something?

**ZARA:** *(stepping back)* Mariam, this is Fakhr. The artist I told you about.

**MARIAM:** *(extending her hand)* The famous mystery painter. I'm Mariam, journalist and Zara's best friend.

**FAKHR:** *(shaking her hand)* Nice to meet you.

**MARIAM:** *(to ZARA)* So this is why you've been so secretive lately.

**ZARA:** *(embarrassed)* Mariam...

**MARIAM:** *(looking at the paintings)* These are incredible. Zara, you might have discovered something special here.

### SCENE 9

**INT. AHMED FAMILY HOME - NIGHT**

*SARA is sewing while FEROZE reads business papers. FAKHR enters, exhausted but excited.*

**SARA:** Beta, you look tired.

**FAKHR:** But happy, Ammi. The exhibition opens tomorrow.

**FEROZE:** Are you nervous?

**FAKHR:** Terrified. But in a good way.

**SARA:** *(standing up)* Wait here.

*She goes to her room and returns with a small box.*

**SARA:** This was your father's. He wore it to every important occasion.

*She opens the box to reveal a simple but elegant watch.*

**FAKHR:** *(emotional)* Ammi, I can't take this.

**SARA:** He would have wanted you to have it for your first exhibition.

**FEROZE:** *(standing)* And this is from me.

*He hands FAKHR a small card.*

**FEROZE:** It's not much, but I hired a small catering service for the opening. Every gallery opening needs refreshments.

**FAKHR:** *(hugging both of them)* I love you both so much.

*A family moment of love and support.*

## ACT III

### SCENE 10

**INT. MALIK ART GALLERY - EXHIBITION OPENING - EVENING**

*The back room is transformed. FAKHR's paintings are beautifully displayed with proper lighting. A small crowd has gathered. FAKHR stands nervously in the corner while ZARA mingles with guests.*

**ZARA:** *(approaching FAKHR)* How are you feeling?

**FAKHR:** Like I might throw up any minute.

**ZARA:** *(laughing)* That's normal. Every artist feels that way at their first show.

*FEROZE, SARA, and AMNA enter. SARA is dressed in her best sari.*

**FAKHR:** *(going to them)* You came.

**SARA:** *(proudly)* Of course we came, beta.

**AMNA:** *(to FEROZE)* These are really good, Feroze. Your brother is talented.

*ZARA approaches the group.*

**FAKHR:** Zara, this is my family. My mother Sara, my brother Feroze, and his fiancée Amna.

**ZARA:** *(graciously)* It's such an honor to meet you. Fakhr talks about you all constantly.

**SARA:** *(to ZARA)* Beta, thank you for believing in my son.

**ZARA:** *(looking at FAKHR)* It wasn't hard to believe in him.

*HASSAN approaches the group, looking less than pleased.*

**HASSAN:** *(to ZARA)* A word?

**ZARA:** *(excusing herself)* Of course. Please, enjoy the exhibition.

*ZARA and HASSAN move away.*

**HASSAN:** *(quietly but firmly)* This is getting too personal, Zara.

**ZARA:** What do you mean?

**HASSAN:** The way you look at him. This is business, remember that.

**ZARA:** Papa, I'm just supporting a talented artist.

**HASSAN:** Don't lie to me, beta. I'm your father.

*Meanwhile, USTAD IBRAHIM enters and approaches FAKHR.*

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** Beta, I'm proud of you.

**FAKHR:** Ustad ji, you came.

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** *(looking around)* Your father would have been proud too.

*A wealthy-looking COLLECTOR approaches one of FAKHR's paintings.*

**COLLECTOR:** *(to ZARA, who has returned)* This piece, the city landscape, what's the price?

**ZARA:** *(glancing at FAKHR)* Fifteen thousand.

**COLLECTOR:** I'll take it.

*FAKHR can't believe it. His first sale.*

**DANISH:** *(appearing beside FAKHR)* Congratulations, my friend.

**FAKHR:** *(in shock)* Someone bought my painting.

**DANISH:** The first of many.

*As the evening progresses, more people show interest in FAKHR's work.*

### SCENE 11

**EXT. MALIK ART GALLERY - LATER THAT EVENING**

*The crowd has thinned. FAKHR and ZARA stand outside the gallery, both emotionally drained but happy.*

**ZARA:** Three paintings sold on the first night. That's incredible for an unknown artist.

**FAKHR:** I can't believe it actually happened.

**ZARA:** Believe it. You're talented, Fakhr. Really talented.

*A moment of comfortable silence.*

**FAKHR:** Zara, I want to thank you, but I don't know how.

**ZARA:** *(softly)* You don't need to thank me.

**FAKHR:** Yes, I do. You took a risk on me when no one else would.

**ZARA:** *(looking at him intently)* It wasn't a risk. I knew your work would speak to people.

*Another moment of connection.*

**FAKHR:** Can I ask you something?

**ZARA:** Of course.

**FAKHR:** Why didn't you become an artist yourself? You have such a good eye, such understanding of art.

**ZARA:** *(sadly)* My father needed me in the business. Sometimes we sacrifice our own dreams for family expectations.

**FAKHR:** That's exactly what my brother wanted me to do.

**ZARA:** But you didn't.

**FAKHR:** Because I had you encouraging me.

*The moment is interrupted by HASSAN calling from inside.*

**HASSAN:** Zara! We need to close up.

**ZARA:** *(disappointed)* I should go.

**FAKHR:** Zara, would you... would you like to have dinner sometime? To celebrate?

**ZARA:** *(after a hesitation)* I'd like that.

### SCENE 12

**INT. AHMED FAMILY HOME - LATE NIGHT**

*FAKHR enters to find FEROZE waiting for him in the living room.*

**FEROZE:** How did it go?

**FAKHR:** *(grinning)* Three paintings sold.

**FEROZE:** *(standing up, emotional)* Fakhr, that's incredible.

**FAKHR:** And there's interest in two more.

*The brothers embrace.*

**FEROZE:** I owe you an apology.

**FAKHR:** No, you don't.

**FEROZE:** Yes, I do. I was so focused on being responsible that I forgot to be supportive.

**FAKHR:** You were protecting the family. I understand that now.

**FEROZE:** But you were protecting something too. Your dreams, your talent. And you were right.

*SARA appears in the doorway in her nightgown.*

**SARA:** I heard voices. How was the exhibition?

**FAKHR:** *(going to her)* Ammi, people actually bought my paintings.

**SARA:** *(crying with happiness)* I knew they would, beta. I always knew.

*A family moment of joy and reconciliation.*

### SCENE 13

**EXT. PARK - NEXT DAY**

*FAKHR and ZARA walk along a tree-lined path. ZARA carries a small picnic basket.*

**ZARA:** I thought we could celebrate properly.

**FAKHR:** This is perfect.

*They find a spot under a large tree and sit down.*

**ZARA:** Tell me about your childhood.

**FAKHR:** Not much to tell. We weren't wealthy, but we were happy. My father was a clerk in a government office, but he loved art. He used to take me to museums on Sundays.

**ZARA:** That's where your love for art began?

**FAKHR:** Yes. He always said that art was the language of the soul.

**ZARA:** Your father sounds like a wonderful man.

**FAKHR:** *(sadly)* He died when I was twenty. Heart attack. Sudden, unexpected.

**ZARA:** *(reaching for his hand)* I'm sorry.

**FAKHR:** *(accepting her touch)* That's when everything changed. Feroze had to take over supporting the family. I was still in college, dreaming of art school.

**ZARA:** But you never gave up on art.

**FAKHR:** No. Somehow I felt like giving up on art would be giving up on him.

*A moment of silence.*

**ZARA:** What about you? Tell me about growing up Zara Malik.

**ZARA:** *(with a bitter smile)* Rich girl problems, right?

**FAKHR:** Problems are problems, regardless of bank accounts.

**ZARA:** My mother died when I was fifteen. Cancer. After that, it was just Papa and me. He threw himself into work, and I... I tried to fill the space she left.

**FAKHR:** Is that why you work at the gallery?

**ZARA:** Partly. But also because I love it. Art was something my mother and I shared. Working with art keeps me close to her memory.

**FAKHR:** *(softly)* We're both trying to honor our parents through our choices.

**ZARA:** Yes, but yours are living their dreams through you. Mine would want me to live my own dreams.

**FAKHR:** What are your dreams, Zara?

**ZARA:** *(after a long pause)* I wanted to be a painter. Like you.

*FAKHR looks at her with new understanding.*

**FAKHR:** It's not too late.

**ZARA:** Isn't it? I'm twenty-two, with no formal training, running my father's business.

**FAKHR:** I'm twenty-four with no formal training either. Art doesn't have an expiration date.

**ZARA:** *(smiling sadly)* You make it sound so simple.

**FAKHR:** Maybe it is. Maybe we complicate things ourselves.

*They sit in comfortable silence, hands still touching.*

### SCENE 14

**INT. MALIK HOUSE - DINING ROOM - EVENING**

*An elegant dining room. HASSAN sits across from ZARA at dinner.*

**HASSAN:** The exhibition is doing well.

**ZARA:** Yes, we might sell all the pieces by the end of the week.

**HASSAN:** Good. But I don't want you getting too attached to these projects.

**ZARA:** *(carefully)* What do you mean?

**HASSAN:** I mean, this young man, Fakhr. I see how you look at him.

**ZARA:** Papa, he's a talented artist. I'm just doing my job.

**HASSAN:** Zara, beta, I'm not blind. And I'm not stupid.

*ZARA puts down her fork.*

**ZARA:** And what if I do care about him? Is that so wrong?

**HASSAN:** *(firmly)* Yes. It is wrong. He's from a different world, Zara.

**ZARA:** So was Mama when you met her. She was a teacher, you were a businessman.

**HASSAN:** That was different.

**ZARA:** How? How was it different?

**HASSAN:** Because I could provide for her. I could give her security. What can this boy give you?

**ZARA:** Maybe happiness?

**HASSAN:** *(angrily)* Happiness doesn't pay bills, Zara. It doesn't provide security.

**ZARA:** I don't need someone to provide for me, Papa. I can provide for myself.

**HASSAN:** *(standing up)* This conversation is over. You will not see this boy outside of gallery business.

**ZARA:** *(also standing)* Papa, I'm not a child anymore.

**HASSAN:** As long as you live in my house and work in my business, you'll follow my rules.

*HASSAN exits, leaving ZARA alone and upset.*

### SCENE 15

**INT. MALIK ART GALLERY - NEXT DAY**

*ZARA is at her desk, going through paperwork. She looks tired and stressed. FAKHR enters.*

**FAKHR:** Good morning.

**ZARA:** *(not looking up)* Good morning.

**FAKHR:** *(noticing her mood)* Is everything okay?

**ZARA:** *(still not looking up)* Everything's fine.

**FAKHR:** Zara, look at me.

*She finally looks up. He can see she's been crying.*

**FAKHR:** What happened?

**ZARA:** *(trying to compose herself)* Nothing. Just family stuff.

**FAKHR:** Does this family stuff have anything to do with me?

*ZARA's silence is answer enough.*

**FAKHR:** Your father doesn't approve of our friendship.

**ZARA:** *(quietly)* He thinks I'm getting too personally involved.

**FAKHR:** Are you?

**ZARA:** *(meeting his eyes)* Yes.

*The admission hangs in the air between them.*

**FAKHR:** Zara...

**ZARA:** *(standing up quickly)* Fakhr, we need to keep this professional.

**FAKHR:** Is that what you want?

**ZARA:** It's what needs to happen.

**FAKHR:** That's not what I asked.

*ZARA struggles with her answer.*

**ZARA:** What I want doesn't matter.

**FAKHR:** It matters to me.

*HASSAN enters from the back office.*

**HASSAN:** Mr. Ahmed, I need to speak with you.

**FAKHR:** Of course, sir.

**HASSAN:** Your exhibition ends tomorrow. We've sold six pieces. Congratulations.

**FAKHR:** Thank you, sir.

**HASSAN:** However, I won't be offering you any future exhibitions.

**FAKHR:** *(confused)* Sir? Did I do something wrong?

**HASSAN:** No, you did everything right. Too right.

**FAKHR:** I don't understand.

**HASSAN:** *(looking at ZARA)* I think you do.

*The tension in the room is palpable.*

**FAKHR:** *(understanding)* This is about Zara and me.

**HASSAN:** There is no 'Zara and you,' young man.

**FAKHR:** *(respectfully but firmly)* With respect, sir, that's not your decision to make.

**HASSAN:** *(angrily)* It absolutely is my decision. She's my daughter.

**ZARA:** *(speaking up)* Papa, please don't do this.

**HASSAN:** *(to ZARA)* You will not see him again after tomorrow.

**FAKHR:** *(to ZARA)* Is that what you want?

**ZARA:** *(torn, almost whispering)* No.

**HASSAN:** What she wants is irrelevant. What's best for her is what matters.

**FAKHR:** *(to HASSAN)* And you think what's best for her is to control her life?

**HASSAN:** I think what's best for her is to marry someone who can provide for her properly.

**FAKHR:** And you think I can't?

**HASSAN:** I know you can't.

*FAKHR looks hurt but determined.*

**FAKHR:** You're right, sir. Right now, I can't provide for her the way you can. But I love her. And given time, I will be able to give her everything she deserves.

**HASSAN:** Love doesn't put food on the table.

**FAKHR:** No, but it feeds the soul. And without that, what's the point of the food?

**ZARA:** *(tearfully)* Stop it, both of you. Please.

**HASSAN:** Zara, go home. Mr. Ahmed, your exhibition ends tomorrow. Please remove your remaining pieces by evening.

*HASSAN exits. ZARA and FAKHR are left alone.*

**FAKHR:** Zara...

**ZARA:** *(crying)* He's not wrong, you know. We are from different worlds.

**FAKHR:** So what? People cross between worlds all the time.

**ZARA:** *(shaking her head)* It's not that simple.

**FAKHR:** Why not? Why can't it be simple? I love you, you love me...

**ZARA:** *(shocked)* Fakhr...

**FAKHR:** *(realizing what he said)* I'm sorry. I didn't mean to... I mean, I did mean to, but not like this.

**ZARA:** *(softly)* Do you mean it?

**FAKHR:** *(with complete honesty)* Every word. I love you, Zara. Not your family's money, not your father's gallery. You. Your intelligence, your kindness, the way you see art, the way you believed in me when no one else would.

**ZARA:** *(tears streaming)* I love you too.

*They move toward each other, but ZARA stops herself.*

**ZARA:** But love isn't always enough, is it?

**FAKHR:** It has to be. It has to be enough.

**ZARA:** *(wiping her tears)* I need time to think.

**FAKHR:** How much time?

**ZARA:** I don't know.

*FAKHR nods, understanding but heartbroken.*

**FAKHR:** I'll wait. However long it takes, I'll wait.

*ZARA looks at him with love and pain, then exits quickly.*

### SCENE 16

**INT. AHMED FAMILY HOME - EVENING**

*FAKHR sits alone at the kitchen table, staring at the money from his art sales. FEROZE enters.*

**FEROZE:** You should be celebrating. Instead, you look like someone died.

**FAKHR:** *(without looking up)* Her father doesn't want her to see me anymore.

**FEROZE:** *(sitting down)* Ah. The gallery owner's daughter.

**FAKHR:** Her name is Zara.

**FEROZE:** Tell me about her.

**FAKHR:** *(finally looking up)* She's everything I never knew I was looking for. Smart, passionate about art, kind... She saw something in my work when no one else would.

**FEROZE:** And you love her.

**FAKHR:** *(surprised)* How did you...?

**FEROZE:** Because you have the same look Abbu had when he talked about Ammi.

*SARA enters, having overheard.*

**SARA:** What's this about a girl?

**FAKHR:** It's complicated, Ammi.

**SARA:** *(sitting down)* The best things usually are, beta.

*FAKHR tells them the whole story. When he finishes, the room is quiet.*

**FEROZE:** So what are you going to do?

**FAKHR:** I don't know. He's not wrong about one thing - I can't provide for her the way she's used to.

**SARA:** Beta, love isn't about what you can provide. It's about what you can become together.

**FEROZE:** *(thoughtfully)* The money from your paintings... it's a start, isn't it?

**FAKHR:** It's not enough. Not nearly enough.

**FEROZE:** *(standing up)* Then we make it enough.

**FAKHR:** What do you mean?

**FEROZE:** I mean, maybe it's time to combine your dreams with some business sense.

**SARA:** What are you thinking, beta?

**FEROZE:** Fakhr, your art is good enough to sell. What if we opened our own small gallery? Start small, build a reputation.

**FAKHR:** *(shocked)* Are you serious?

**FEROZE:** We have some savings, you have the talent, and I have business experience. Together, maybe we can build something.

**SARA:** *(proudly)* Your father would love this - his sons working together.

**FAKHR:** But Feroze, you'd be risking everything.

**FEROZE:** No, I'd be investing in something. In you. In us.

*The brothers embrace emotionally.*

### SCENE 17

**INT. MALIK HOUSE - ZARA'S BEDROOM - SAME NIGHT**

*ZARA sits at her window, looking out at the city. MARIAM enters.*

**MARIAM:** Your father let me in. He said you weren't feeling well.

**ZARA:** *(not turning around)* I'm fine.

**MARIAM:** *(sitting on the bed)* You're many things, Zara, but right now fine isn't one of them.

*ZARA finally turns around, her eyes red from crying.*

**MARIAM:** It's the artist, isn't it? Fakhr.

**ZARA:** Papa says I can't see him anymore.

**MARIAM:** And what do you say?

**ZARA:** *(frustrated)* It doesn't matter what I say. Papa controls everything - the gallery, my work, my life.

**MARIAM:** Does he control your heart?

**ZARA:** *(quietly)* I told him I loved him.

**MARIAM:** Fakhr?

**ZARA:** *(nodding)* And he said he loved me too.

**MARIAM:** *(excited)* That's wonderful! So what's the problem?

**ZARA:** The problem is reality, Mariam. He's a struggling artist from a middle-class family. I'm... this.

*She gestures around the expensive room.*

**MARIAM:** So?

**ZARA:** So Papa's right. We're from different worlds.

**MARIAM:** *(firmly)* Bullshit.

**ZARA:** *(surprised)* Mariam!

**MARIAM:** That's bullshit, and you know it. You're not different species. You're both human beings who love art and happen to love each other.

**ZARA:** It's not that simple.

**MARIAM:** Why not? Why does love have to be complicated by bank accounts and social status?

**ZARA:** Because that's how the world works.

**MARIAM:** That's how your father's world works. But it doesn't have to be how your world works.

*ZARA considers this.*

**MARIAM:** Zara, when was the last time you painted?

**ZARA:** *(surprised by the question)* What?

**MARIAM:** When was the last time you picked up a paintbrush for yourself, not for the gallery?

**ZARA:** *(thinking)* I don't remember.

**MARIAM:** That's the real problem. You've been living your father's life for so long, you've forgotten what your own life looks like.

**ZARA:** And what if my own life is a disaster?

**MARIAM:** Then at least it's your disaster.

### SCENE 18

**INT. MALIK ART GALLERY - NEXT DAY (FINAL DAY OF EXHIBITION)**

*The gallery is busy with last-minute visitors. FAKHR stands near his paintings, watching people examine his work. Only one painting remains unsold. ZARA approaches.*

**ZARA:** *(formally)* Mr. Ahmed, how has the final day been?

**FAKHR:** *(playing along with the formality)* Very well, Miss Malik. Thank you.

*They stand awkwardly near each other.*

**FAKHR:** Which one didn't sell?

**ZARA:** The portrait of your father.

**FAKHR:** *(relieved)* Good. I wasn't sure I wanted to sell that one anyway.

**ZARA:** Why did you put it in the exhibition then?

**FAKHR:** Because it's my best work. It deserves to be seen.

*A pause.*

**ZARA:** Fakhr, I've been thinking about what you said.

**FAKHR:** *(hopeful)* And?

**ZARA:** And I don't know what to do.

**FAKHR:** *(disappointed but understanding)* I see.

**ZARA:** No, you don't see. I don't know what to do because I've never had to make a choice like this before.

**FAKHR:** What kind of choice?

**ZARA:** Between the life everyone expects me to live and the life I want to live.

**FAKHR:** What life do you want to live?

**ZARA:** *(looking at him intently)* One where I paint again. One where I make my own decisions. One where...

**FAKHR:** Where what?

**ZARA:** *(quietly)* One where I'm brave enough to follow my heart.

*HASSAN enters, interrupting the moment.*

**HASSAN:** Mr. Ahmed, I trust you're removing your remaining piece this evening?

**FAKHR:** Yes, sir.

**HASSAN:** Good. Zara, we need to discuss the next exhibition.

*HASSAN starts to walk away, expecting ZARA to follow.*

**ZARA:** *(not moving)* Papa, wait.

**HASSAN:** *(turning back)* Yes?

**ZARA:** I have something to tell you.

**FAKHR:** *(sensing trouble)* Zara, maybe this isn't the time...

**ZARA:** *(to FAKHR)* No, it is the time. *(to HASSAN)* Papa, I'm in love with Fakhr.

*The gallery seems to go quiet around them.*

**HASSAN:** *(dangerously calm)* We will discuss this at home.

**ZARA:** No, Papa. We'll discuss it now. I'm an adult, and I have the right to love who I choose.

**HASSAN:** *(angrily)* You have the right to ruin your life, if that's what you're determined to do.

**FAKHR:** *(stepping forward)* Sir, I understand your concerns, but I love your daughter. I would never hurt her.

**HASSAN:** *(to FAKHR)* Love? What do you know about love? Love is sacrifice, commitment, providing for someone's future.

**FAKHR:** I know all about sacrifice, sir. I've watched my brother sacrifice his dreams to support our family. I've sacrificed comfort to pursue my art.

**HASSAN:** And what has that sacrifice gotten you? A few sold paintings?

**ZARA:** *(angrily)* Papa, that's enough.

**HASSAN:** *(to ZARA)* Is it? Is it enough? Can he give you the life you deserve?

**ZARA:** He can give me the life I want.

**HASSAN:** Which is what? Poverty? Uncertainty?

**ZARA:** *(passionately)* Love, Papa. Respect. The chance to be myself instead of who you want me to be.

**HASSAN:** *(hurt)* And who do I want you to be?

**ZARA:** *(softening slightly)* A version of Mama that never got to live her own dreams.

*This hits HASSAN hard. He's quiet for a moment.*

**HASSAN:** Your mother never complained about her life.

**ZARA:** Because she loved you. But Papa, she also gave up her teaching to support your business dreams. I watched her paint in her free time and saw the joy it brought her.

**HASSAN:** *(quietly)* She painted?

**ZARA:** In the conservatory, when she thought no one was watching. She never showed anyone her work because she didn't think it was good enough.

*HASSAN is visibly shaken by this revelation.*

**FAKHR:** *(gently)* Sir, I can't promise I'll be wealthy tomorrow. But I can promise I'll spend every day trying to be worthy of your daughter's love.

**HASSAN:** *(after a long pause, to ZARA)* And if I say no?

**ZARA:** *(firmly)* Then you'll lose me the same way you lost her dreams.

*The weight of this statement settles over all of them.*

**HASSAN:** *(to FAKHR)* If... and I say if... I were to consider this, what are your intentions?

**FAKHR:** To build a life with her. To support her dreams the way she's supported mine.

**HASSAN:** And how do you plan to do that with no steady income?

**FEROZE:** *(entering unexpectedly)* If I may, sir?

*Everyone turns to look at FEROZE.*

**FAKHR:** *(surprised)* Feroze? What are you doing here?

**FEROZE:** *(to HASSAN)* Mr. Malik, I'm Feroze Khan, Fakhr's brother.

**HASSAN:** *(recognizing the name)* Khan Textiles?

**FEROZE:** Yes, sir. I came to discuss a business proposition with you.

**HASSAN:** *(intrigued despite himself)* What kind of proposition?

**FEROZE:** My brother has proven he can sell art. You have the most prestigious gallery in the city. I have business capital and experience.

**HASSAN:** Continue.

**FEROZE:** A partnership. A small satellite gallery space, featuring emerging artists. Fakhr as the artistic director, myself handling business operations, and your gallery providing the reputation and client base.

*Everyone stares at FEROZE in surprise.*

**FAKHR:** *(whispered)* Feroze, what are you doing?

**FEROZE:** *(to FAKHR)* Supporting my brother's dreams. *(to HASSAN)* It's a good business model, sir. Low risk, high potential return.

**HASSAN:** *(after a long pause)* This is highly irregular.

**ZARA:** *(hopeful)* But possible?

**HASSAN:** *(looking between FAKHR and ZARA)* I need time to think.

**FAKHR:** How much time?

**HASSAN:** *(firmly)* As much time as I need. *(to ZARA)* And during that time, you will not see each other.

**ZARA:** *(starting to protest)* Papa...

**HASSAN:** That is my condition. If you truly love each other, you can wait while I make my decision.

*FAKHR and ZARA look at each other across the room.*

**FAKHR:** *(to HASSAN)* And if we agree to wait?

**HASSAN:** Then I will seriously consider this... arrangement.

*FAKHR looks to ZARA, who nods slightly.*

**FAKHR:** We'll wait.

**HASSAN:** One month. I'll give you my answer in one month.

*HASSAN exits, leaving everyone in stunned silence.*

### SCENE 19

**EXT. MALIK ART GALLERY - EVENING**

*FAKHR loads his father's portrait into FEROZE's car. The brothers stand together.*

**FAKHR:** I can't believe you did that.

**FEROZE:** I can't believe I waited so long to do it.

**FAKHR:** But your business, your stability...

**FEROZE:** Will be fine. Besides, maybe it's time I took some risks too.

**FAKHR:** What if her father says no?

**FEROZE:** Then we start our own gallery anyway. But at least we'll have tried.

*ZARA appears in the gallery doorway, watching them. FAKHR sees her.*

**FAKHR:** *(to FEROZE)* Give me a minute?

*FEROZE nods and gets in the car. FAKHR approaches ZARA.*

**FAKHR:** One month.

**ZARA:** One month.

**FAKHR:** It'll be the longest month of my life.

**ZARA:** *(reaching into her bag)* I have something for you.

*She hands him a small canvas - a painting she's clearly been working on recently.*

**ZARA:** It's not very good. I'm out of practice.

*FAKHR looks at the painting. It's a simple but beautiful landscape, painted with raw emotion.*

**FAKHR:** *(amazed)* Zara, this is wonderful. When did you paint this?

**ZARA:** Last night. After Mariam reminded me what I'd given up.

**FAKHR:** You're incredibly talented.

**ZARA:** *(smiling sadly)* Maybe we can find out together.

**FAKHR:** I'd like that more than anything.

*They stand close to each other, wanting to embrace but holding back.*

**ZARA:** One month, Fakhr. Don't give up on us.

**FAKHR:** Never.

*ZARA goes back inside. FAKHR gets in the car with FEROZE.*

**FEROZE:** Ready to go home?

**FAKHR:** *(looking back at the gallery)* Yeah. Let's go home.

## ACT IV

### SCENE 20

**INT. AHMED FAMILY HOME - TWO WEEKS LATER - DAY**

*The house is bustling with activity. Canvases are stacked everywhere, and there's a sense of purpose and excitement. FAKHR is painting while FEROZE reviews business plans. SARA brings them tea.*

**SARA:** You boys are working too hard.

**FEROZE:** We want to be ready, Ammi. If Mr. Malik says yes, we need to show him we're serious.

**FAKHR:** And if he says no?

**FEROZE:** Then we're still ready.

*DANISH enters, carrying his guitar and some papers.*

**DANISH:** I brought the contracts for the café exhibition.

**FAKHR:** *(looking up from painting)* Already confirmed?

**DANISH:** Three coffee shops want to display local art. It's not the Malik Gallery, but it's exposure.

**FEROZE:** *(taking the papers)* Every step forward counts.

**SARA:** *(proudly)* Look at my boys, working together.

*There's a knock at the door. SARA goes to answer it and returns with USTAD IBRAHIM.*

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** I hope I'm not interrupting.

**FAKHR:** *(standing to greet him)* Never, Ustad ji. Look at what we're building.

*USTAD IBRAHIM surveys the organized chaos of artwork and business plans.*

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** This is good, beta. Art needs business sense to survive, and business needs art to have soul.

**FEROZE:** *(to USTAD IBRAHIM)* Sir, I wanted to thank you.

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** For what?

**FEROZE:** For keeping my brother's dreams alive when I was trying to kill them.

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** Dreams don't die easily, beta. They just wait for the right moment to bloom.

**FAKHR:** Do you think we're doing the right thing?

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** I think you're doing the brave thing. Which is often the same thing.

### SCENE 21

**INT. MALIK HOUSE - HASSAN'S STUDY - SAME TIME**

*HASSAN sits at his desk, reviewing financial reports. ZARA enters with tea.*

**ZARA:** You missed lunch again.

**HASSAN:** *(not looking up)* I wasn't hungry.

**ZARA:** Papa, you've been avoiding me for two weeks.

**HASSAN:** *(finally looking up)* I haven't been avoiding you. I've been thinking.

**ZARA:** About?

**HASSAN:** About what you said. About your mother's dreams.

*ZARA sits down across from him.*

**ZARA:** I didn't mean to hurt you.

**HASSAN:** But you did. Because you were right.

*A pause.*

**HASSAN:** I found them, you know. Her paintings. Hidden in the conservatory storage.

**ZARA:** *(surprised)* You did?

**HASSAN:** They're beautiful, Zara. Really beautiful. And I never knew.

**ZARA:** She didn't want to burden you with another dream to support.

**HASSAN:** *(sadly)* So instead, I burdened her with mine.

**ZARA:** Papa, she chose to support you because she loved you.

**HASSAN:** The way you're choosing to support this young man?

**ZARA:** *(carefully)* I'm choosing to follow my heart. There's a difference.

**HASSAN:** Is there?

*HASSAN stands and walks to the window.*

**HASSAN:** I've been investigating your Fakhr.

**ZARA:** *(defensive)* Papa...

**HASSAN:** His family is decent. Modest, but respectable. His brother's business is small but stable and growing.

**ZARA:** And?

**HASSAN:** And he sold two more paintings this week. To the coffee shop exhibitions.

**ZARA:** *(surprised)* He did?

**HASSAN:** You didn't know?

**ZARA:** We agreed not to contact each other.

**HASSAN:** *(turning back to her)* That must be difficult.

**ZARA:** *(honestly)* It's killing me.

*HASSAN looks at his daughter with new understanding.*

**HASSAN:** What if I said yes?

**ZARA:** *(heart skipping)* Papa?

**HASSAN:** What if I agreed to this partnership? What if I... gave you my blessing?

**ZARA:** *(standing up)* Do you mean it?

**HASSAN:** I mean, what then? What would you want?

**ZARA:** I want to marry him, Papa. I want to build a life with him. I want to paint again, to help other artists the way I helped him.

**HASSAN:** *(after a long pause)* Your mother would have liked him.

**ZARA:** *(tearfully)* You think so?

**HASSAN:** She always said the measure of a man wasn't in his wallet, but in his willingness to dream.

*Father and daughter embrace emotionally.*

### SCENE 22

**INT. MALIK ART GALLERY - ONE WEEK LATER**

*The gallery is closed. HASSAN, ZARA, FEROZE, and FAKHR sit around a table in the back office. Business papers are spread between them.*

**HASSAN:** The partnership agreement is straightforward. Equal investment, shared profits, joint decision-making on exhibitions.

**FEROZE:** *(reviewing papers)* This is more than generous, sir.

**HASSAN:** It's business, not charity. I expect this venture to be profitable.

**FAKHR:** *(still somewhat in disbelief)* I can't believe this is really happening.

**HASSAN:** *(to FAKHR)* Don't make me regret this decision.

**FAKHR:** I won't, sir. I promise you won't regret this.

**HASSAN:** *(standing up)* Well then, I believe congratulations are in order.

*Everyone stands. HASSAN extends his hand to FAKHR, who shakes it gratefully.*

**HASSAN:** *(to ZARA)* Now, about the other matter...

**ZARA:** *(nervously)* Papa?

**HASSAN:** I have one condition regarding your... relationship.

**FAKHR:** *(prepared for the worst)* Anything, sir.

**HASSAN:** I want to meet your family properly. A formal dinner. If I'm going to welcome you into my family, I should know yours.

**SARA:** *(entering unexpectedly with AMNA and DANISH)* I hope we're not too early.

*Everyone turns in surprise.*

**FEROZE:** *(confused)* Ammi? How did you...?

**ZARA:** *(smiling)* I may have invited them.

**HASSAN:** *(to ZARA)* You planned this?

**ZARA:** I thought it was time our families met properly.

*SARA approaches HASSAN, extending her hand.*

**SARA:** Mr. Malik, I'm Sara Ahmed. Thank you for believing in my son.

**HASSAN:** *(shaking her hand)* Mrs. Ahmed, your son is very talented.

**SARA:** *(proudly)* Both my sons are talented, sir. In different ways.

**HASSAN:** *(looking around at both families)* Yes, I can see that.

*AMNA steps forward.*

**AMNA:** *(to HASSAN)* Sir, I'm Amna Sheikh, Feroze's fiancée. I wanted to thank you for giving them this opportunity.

**HASSAN:** *(to FEROZE)* You're engaged?

**FEROZE:** Yes, sir. Amna's a doctor. We've been engaged for six months.

**HASSAN:** *(approvingly)* A doctor. Practical and admirable.

*DANISH steps forward with his guitar.*

**DANISH:** And I'm Danish, the friend who convinced Fakhr to never give up on his dreams.

**HASSAN:** *(with a slight smile)* The musician friend. I should have known.

*There's a moment of awkward silence, then HASSAN begins to smile.*

**HASSAN:** Well then, I suppose we should celebrate properly.

### SCENE 23

**EXT. ROOFTOP RESTAURANT - EVENING**

*The two families are seated around a large table on a rooftop terrace overlooking the city. The atmosphere is warm and celebratory.*

**HASSAN:** *(raising his glass)* To new partnerships and... new families.

**EVERYONE:** Cheers!

*As they drink, conversations start flowing naturally.*

**SARA:** *(to HASSAN)* Mr. Malik, Zara tells me you've been very supportive of Fakhr's work.

**HASSAN:** Your son has real talent, Mrs. Ahmed. And more importantly, he has integrity.

**AMNA:** *(to ZARA)* I have to ask - when did you first know you loved him?

**ZARA:** *(looking at FAKHR)* The first day he walked into the gallery. He looked at art the way most people look at miracles.

**FAKHR:** *(embarrassed)* Zara...

**ZARA:** It's true. You see beauty where others see just paint and canvas.

**FEROZE:** *(to HASSAN)* Sir, I want you to know - this partnership means everything to both of us.

**HASSAN:** *(seriously)* Good. Because I'm investing more than money in this venture.

**DANISH:** *(strumming his guitar softly)* You know what this calls for? A song.

**EVERYONE:** *(in good-natured protest)* Danish, no!

**DANISH:** *(grinning)* Come on, it's a celebration!

*He begins playing a soft, romantic melody. FAKHR and ZARA look at each other across the table.*

**FAKHR:** *(standing up)* Actually, before Danish serenades us all, I have something to say.

*The table falls quiet.*

**FAKHR:** *(looking directly at ZARA)* A month ago, I was a struggling artist with big dreams and no prospects. Today, I'm still a struggling artist, but now I have something much more valuable.

**ZARA:** *(softly)* What's that?

**FAKHR:** Hope. Love. And the most amazing woman in the world believing in me.

*He gets down on one knee beside her chair.*

**FAKHR:** Zara Malik, I don't have much to offer except my heart and my promise to spend every day trying to be worthy of yours. Will you marry me?

*The table is silent. ZARA's eyes fill with tears.*

**ZARA:** *(tearfully)* Yes. Yes, of course, yes!

*The table erupts in celebration. HASSAN wipes his eyes discreetly.*

**SARA:** *(crying with joy)* My son is getting married!

**FEROZE:** *(emotional)* Congratulations, both of you.

**HASSAN:** *(standing up, emotional)* Welcome to the family, Fakhr.

*Everyone embraces. DANISH strums his guitar triumphantly.*

### SCENE 24

**INT. NEW GALLERY SPACE - ONE MONTH LATER - DAY**

*A small but beautiful gallery space is being set up. FAKHR and ZARA are hanging paintings while FEROZE handles business calls. The space is filled with natural light and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere.*

**ZARA:** *(stepping back to look at a painting)* A little to the left.

**FAKHR:** *(adjusting the painting)* Here?

**ZARA:** Perfect.

**FEROZE:** *(hanging up his phone)* The opening is confirmed for next Friday. We have commitments from fifty guests.

**FAKHR:** *(amazed)* Fifty people want to come to my exhibition?

**ZARA:** Our exhibition. We're partners now, remember?

**FAKHR:** How could I forget?

*SARA enters with a basket of food.*

**SARA:** I brought lunch for the hardworking artists.

**ZARA:** *(embracing SARA)* Ammi, you didn't have to do that.

**SARA:** *(tearfully)* I love hearing you call me that.

**FAKHR:** Any word from Hassan Uncle about the review in the paper?

**FEROZE:** He said the art critic from the Daily News is definitely coming.

**ZARA:** *(nervously)* What if they don't like the work?

**FAKHR:** Then we'll learn from their criticism and do better next time.

**ZARA:** When did you become so wise?

**FAKHR:** When I realized I had something worth fighting for.

*USTAD IBRAHIM enters, carrying a wrapped canvas.*

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** I brought a gift for the new gallery.

**FAKHR:** Ustad ji, you didn't have to...

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** *(unwrapping the canvas)* Every gallery needs its first masterpiece.

*He reveals a beautiful painting - a portrait of FAKHR and ZARA together.*

**ZARA:** *(gasping)* Ustad ji, when did you paint this?

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** I've been working on it since the day I met you both. I could see then what took everyone else much longer to see.

**FAKHR:** What's that?

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** That you were meant to create beautiful things together.

*HASSAN enters, looking around the space approvingly.*

**HASSAN:** The space looks wonderful.

**ZARA:** *(going to him)* Papa, what do you think?

**HASSAN:** *(honestly)* I think your mother would have loved this place.

**FAKHR:** *(approaching HASSAN)* Sir, I want to thank you again for believing in us.

**HASSAN:** Don't thank me yet. Wait until you see your first month's sales figures.

**FEROZE:** *(grinning)* Always the businessman.

**HASSAN:** Someone has to be practical around here.

*MARIAM enters with a camera.*

**MARIAM:** Sorry I'm late! I brought my camera to document the pre-opening.

**ZARA:** *(hugging MARIAM)* Perfect timing.

**MARIAM:** *(looking around)* This place is incredible. It has such good energy.

**DANISH:** *(entering with his guitar case)* Did someone say energy? I brought music for the opening.

**FAKHR:** *(laughing)* Of course you did.

*The space is now filled with both families and friends. Everyone is talking and laughing.*

**SARA:** *(to the group)* You know, a month ago, I was worried about my sons' future. Today, I couldn't be prouder.

**FEROZE:** *(putting his arm around FAKHR)* We've come a long way, little brother.

**FAKHR:** We've barely started, big brother.

*ZARA takes FAKHR's hand and pulls him aside slightly.*

**ZARA:** Are you happy?

**FAKHR:** *(looking around at their families, their gallery, their future)* I'm more than happy. I'm complete.

**ZARA:** Even if we struggle sometimes?

**FAKHR:** Especially then. Because we'll struggle together.

*They kiss as their families and friends continue celebrating around them.*

### SCENE 25 (EPILOGUE)

**INT. AHMED-MALIK GALLERY - ONE YEAR LATER - EVENING**

*The gallery has expanded and is hosting a busy opening night. FAKHR's paintings line the walls, along with works by other emerging artists. ZARA, now showing a small bump indicating pregnancy, moves through the crowd with confidence and grace.*

**ZARA:** *(to a CUSTOMER)* Yes, this is one of Fakhr's earlier pieces. The technique has evolved considerably since then.

*FAKHR approaches, paint still under his fingernails.*

**FAKHR:** How are ticket sales for the charity auction?

**ZARA:** Better than expected. We might actually raise enough to fund three art scholarships this year.

**FAKHR:** *(touching her belly gently)* And how is our little art critic doing?

**ZARA:** *(smiling)* Kicking every time someone says something positive about your work.

*FEROZE approaches with AMNA, who is now his wife.*

**FEROZE:** Fakhr, the journalist from Art Monthly wants to interview you.

**AMNA:** *(to ZARA)* How are you feeling? Not too tired?

**ZARA:** I'm perfect. This is exactly where I want to be.

*HASSAN approaches with SARA.*

**HASSAN:** *(to FAKHR)* The critic from the Times just bought two of your pieces.

**SARA:** *(proudly)* My son, the successful artist.

**FAKHR:** *(humbly)* We're all successful tonight, Ammi.

*USTAD IBRAHIM approaches the group, moving slowly but with dignity.*

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** Beta, I have something for you.

*He hands FAKHR a small, wrapped package.*

**FAKHR:** Ustad ji, what's this?

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** Open it.

*FAKHR unwraps it to find a small, well-worn paintbrush.*

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** This was my teacher's brush. His teacher gave it to him. Now I give it to you.

**FAKHR:** *(emotional)* I can't accept this.

**USTAD IBRAHIM:** You must. It carries the dreams of every artist who has held it. Add your dreams to it, then pass it on when the time comes.

*FAKHR accepts the brush with reverence.*

**DANISH:** *(approaching with his guitar)* Is this a private moment, or can the musician join?

**ZARA:** *(laughing)* Always the musician.

**MARIAM:** *(joining the group)* The article is going to be fantastic. This place has such an amazing story.

**HASSAN:** *(looking around the gallery)* You know, a year ago, I thought I was making the biggest mistake of my life.

**ZARA:** And now?

**HASSAN:** Now I know I made the best decision of my life.

*The group stands together, looking out at the bustling gallery filled with art, love, and hope.*
